Well, it's a coincidence that i just saw someone play this on MTV. It's this show called "VH1 Save The Music". Rob Thomas (lead singer of Matchbox Twenty) was performing with this guy he called Guitar God. Well, that guy played the 12 stringer like the chinese orchestra instrument (GuZheng i think), you know the one where you rest it on your lap and use your finger to pluck? Well, he had this metal piece on his left hand and slided it on the strings while flicking with his right plucking hand. Man.. it sounds too good! I don't think you can get that kind of sound even from the best 6-string guitarist, cos the sound produced is too complicated!

It's an aquired taste. To me, it's exotic, so much so it becomes beautiful.

my oh my, imagine if u accidentally drop it on ur leg,those basses are huge and not to mention,ugly [imo], im not trying to say that extra string is bad,but something that's too much are quite nonsense to me
