MIJ Fender Stratocaster ST57 specs. Basswood or Alder?

Hi all,

Just wanna check if anyone has more info on this guitar that is selling at orange guitars.

I have checked the fender japan website and specs for a ST57 RI with US vintage pickups are made out of basswood rather than alder that is stated in the orange guitar website.

Can someone confirm if the specs are correct on this page?

if the back of the headstock has that "foto flame" decal,then its a different issue already.but,since it has been stated that it has a photoflame on the headstock,that decal should be present at the back.PLUS,MIJ? or CIJ?

ok,nevermind,my bad.

it is indeed the foto flame MIJ 40th stratocaster anniversary model,which i doubt its basswood.owned one of a different colour before,and its body is SEN ASH.

Lastly,'57?more like a '54 v-shape neck.

Hmmm.... So this piece is sen ash rather than basswod? 54?

Yes,by right,this should be a Sen Ash body.54 meaning that its more of a 54 reissue than a 57 reissue since the neck profile is a 54 style v-shaped.

yeah, i will give the seller a call. sometimes its good to do some research before buying even if the sellers says what the specs are. I have been in some cases where even the seller do not know the actual specs of the guitar and just state a crowd favorite spec to boost sales.
