Midi interface for my notebook

You have an option of either - USB, serial/parallel, and PCMCIA. Does you laptop have a PCMCIA slot? What laptop (and speed) are you using?

I suggest a serial/parallel MIDI interface especially (especially so with slower computers) to achieve satisfactory low-latency. USB have some problems with latency (faster desktop computers may reduce this problem).

If you´re interested, I have a MOTU Flyer (parallel/ serial) - 2-in, 2-out MIDI interface. Can sell you at a good price (and it is in excellent condition). I´m very happy with its low latency - certainly beats the Opcode I had.

I have a Compaq Persiaro 1508. I think it is something like a P4 2.4Ghz with 256mb ram. Wanted to connect the Trition to it via the PCIF but found out that the notebook does not have any serial port.

So now thinking of a USB solution.

Got a hint on how much you willing to let go the " MOTU Flyer (parallel/ serial) - 2-in, 2-out MIDI interface"?

Thanks.
