but my parallel doesnt seem to work.. is it because my keyboard model is too old or something ?

I try b4 the serial MIDI cable but no the parallel model.

You can try to do some setting in the BIOS ( MB), select the standard mode. This setting normaly only will affect your printer connection. Some advance feature/ high speed printer will no function so well if you select standard mode.

Hope this help....

Hi DEN,

Does this 'Parallel Model' requires a software driver?

Thks.

Synthman,

i believe you got yourself a 25-pin cable to 2 midi (in/out) pods.

Basically you've got a parallel midi connection.

Do you have a software sequencer running on your pc, like cakewalk, cubase or logic? You would need one of these softwares to "talk" to your keyboard.

PC host midi interface

Hi Mike,

The strange thing about the cable is the
25-pin socket is a female connector?! So
how can I connect to the parallel port of
the PC? I suspect it is suppose to connect
to the old first generation 25-pin serial port.

This cable I bought from Citymusic for about $12.
It has the PC host interface (found in X5DR, NX5R)
and the other end is a 25-pin female socket.
I'm running Cakewalk.

It is greatly appreciated if somebody can advise me.

Thank you.

Rgds,

Hi, yes. You can find the driver either in the synth OR user support site which is specific for you PC OS.

After installation check the port setting in the control panel.

Also use male / female 25 pin converter available at SLQ level 5. ( cost you less than S$5) I dont know the name of the shop, but it is the corner shop

USB to MIDI cable
