Hi guys,

I've got a shure sm57 mic that has a shure mic clip, but for some reason or another, it doesn't fit on my sennheiser mic stand.

Is there anywhere i can get a replacement clip that is a guaranteed fit?

Thanks.

Usually the mic holder that came along with your SM-57 has no large treading to small treading adaptor. And i suspect you Sennheiser mic stand uses the small threading. Therefore your mic holder couldn't be fitted in. You can purchase the adaptor piece and it'll solve that problem.

If your mic holder did supply with the adaptor piece, then like what 'guitarlover' said, just remove the adaptor to reveal the large threading and it should fit the presumely large threading of your Sennheiser mic stand.

Good luck! ;)

hmmm. Yeah I don't have that piece.

Any recommendations for a new mic clip? The shure one is pretty tight, hard to get the mic in and out too..

Thanks!

It's suppose to be tight that it won't accidental drop out, especially in live gig situations. :)
Shure mic holders are mostly the slot-in-mic type, the hard plastic kind. It may break if overly slot in too much. Other holder types are spring-loaded press-to-open mic clip. It's oso hard plastic and can break if under frequent rough handling when inserting or lifting the mic. Another type is the softer plastic type. It's still stiff yet soft enuff to push the body stem of the mic into the arch shape catch of the mic holder.

U may find either type in some music stores.

Cheers!

yeah, the softer ones are what im used to. I had that with my old recording set up before i sold everything off to fund some guitar gear. haha

thanks!
