hey guys, need recommendations for a metronome they is loud enough to be heard even with the drums sounding, anyone have any recommendations? budget like about 50 to 80..

Get any decent metronome with a headphone port of any size.Connect it with an appropriate cable with suitable jack head to the jamming studio's mixer channel. Wala!

Alternatively, the drummer will be the only guy tt need to listen to the metronome and the rest will follow the drummer as usual. :D

thanks man, cos actually i am gettig one for self practice at home... XD

i heard the db 30 is good, but where can i get it?

actually just any metrome will do.. as long as it sounds loud enough to be heard when drums are playing and not covered by it...

Hmm.

+1 to Gr3y, alternatively you can source for the digital ones which you can plug your haedphones into. Should be quite easy to find in the major guitar stores.

I second Iman. I went for the drum machine as well. I have some drummers and they said the TAMA RW105, Yamaha Click Station and Boss Dr. Beat (88 to 90) were on the top of the metronome list.

But, from one drummer I asked, he mentioned a point to me. After you have taught yourself the right timing, what next? You will get bored of the beep. Also, as I am a beginner, it would be easier for me to follow the sound that I have programmed rather than the beep, therefore I will not get lost to which part I am already. And I considered those issues a lot. With a drum machine, you can add up more songs compared to metronome. Well that is subjective to which model of course.

You can find some sellers of drum machine here.

I don't think you can get drum machines within your budget y'know. If u really want a cheap metronome just go to Ranking. I got my $50 metronome there and it's not that bad. If i'm not wrong they even have $20 ones. aaaannddd yes, you can plug-em in.

P.S i enquired at Sweelee. Walau the guy quote me 140 for the dr beat.

woo hoo....

mine is.. ermm.. i forgot wat brand it is...

anyway, its a 3 in 1 thingy ah...
consisting of metronome, which able to play in all time signatures, have beeping sound and beeping LED light.....
also, the other 2 features are tuner.. for guitar, and chromatic scales sounds in 2 octaves....

well, yeah, at home i practice using the beeping sound ah
wheareas at jamming studio, its either i use the beeping light as referance or i put on the headphone for the sound......

like i said, i dont know wat brand it is and its not one of those expensive tama or watever watever...
got it for $19.50 at music theme in peninsular.... hee hee......

not being a cheapo, but it haf wat i need
so no regrets about buying it at all....

i bought a medelli metronome which costs 50 plus from ranking.. but i got it for only 15 dollars hur hur hur...

im thinking of selling it and get a drum machine.. ehe

woooo dudes, i wld not skimp on a metrodome. thts the one practice thing i wld put all my cash into to get a gd one. really its the most impt thing. if it's cheap and small its got its uses as well, u can take it anywhere.

a metro with a dual jack is best so u can hear with both sides. a beep on the 1 is gd as well. being able to turn the beep off is also gd.

but dun skimp its really impt

ah well. treat is as a long term investment. I love my Boss DB-90. Functionality as well as luxury extras. The yamaha clickstations i've tried are quite decent too. The Db-90 has some fun stuff such as pre installed grooves that include sambas, bossa nova, rock beats and rhumba. But i guess the important stuff are the choices of time signatures. counting in 4s 8s 16s and triplets. helped me in the long run. espcially useful in performances when i set it up into the drummer's mixer so i can hear the "click" with the rest of the band through my shures. Nothing like that comforting beep click click click to reassure you that you're in time.

Boss
DB-30 quoted $40+ at sweelee
DB-60 quoted $90 at sweelee

DB-60 has more functions then DB-30. Bigger in size too.
Both have earphone jacks which are smaller den normal ehadphones one.
Need the converter i think.
Both have tap function if im not wrong.
