Metallica - That Day Never Comes

aaah yes my apocalypse is great, while That day never comes...otherwise, kirk's solos are getting worse. i can only sense the metal in it after 5mins. guess its more fade to blackish.

Haha, so true...I kinda go "urmm eh..that was a solo?!". Cause this is Kirk we're talking about, that's why I kinda expected more.

errm just go, metallica.com.. 3 song posted there and a video... song are

the days never comes
my apocalypse
Cyanide

this song sounds like a remake of fade to black. well, all I can say is that I prefered their tone back in the old days.

i was there when metallica was in sg! amazing i was in the 1st row. or rather 6th row from the front and got a beer kick into my face by kirk ;ppp

anyway their new album... decent not that ggood. i still prefer the creeping death, battery, master of puppet, wtf.. is this album the song ain't heavy the tone ain't heavy.. wtf wtf.wtf...wtf.. death magnetic my balls...

Anyone here have already listened to The Unforgiven III?
Basically its the best in The Unforgiven series.
Though the riff abit unmemorable, but the solo is just plain mesmerising.

Inevitably....this will lead into a discussion about whether is going to ever release another Master Of Puppets album...and one group will think so and another will call Metallica lame ol' sacks of money-grabbing idiots...
I didn't like St. Anger one single bit but I didn't hate the band. This album has its merits and it kicks St Anger's a*s anyday. Rick Rubin obviously knocked sense into them to get them to do what they used to do very well...write cool riffs and put a goddamn bloody solo in each song. They're probably more riffs in some songs that some lame bands can put in 4 songs. I have yet to get to grips with the lyrics since James no longer has a theme he writes on...getting abstract...(I secretly think he bought all the art that Lars sold). But musically, there're some great stuff on this album. Broken, Beat & Scarred is kinda nice. All Nightmare Long has a pretty good feel to it. Unforgiven III grew on me after a bit.
This ain't no Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning and I wouldn't announce that Metallica is born-again metal god...but I do like this album. It feels a little like when I first heard the Black Album...not heavy as the past but has some good stuff.
To those who haven't listened to it, I'd say give it a shot before you decide if it's the Metallica you want to hear...

i agree, it's different from before.. but it's still pretty good. i really don't like james's singing in this tho, i don't know if it's because of better recording but his voice sounds to clear for my liking. the lyrics are horrible. instruments wise it's not too bad. nothing memorable yet tho, or maybe they just haven't grown on me yet..

Kickass song but super lame video, i was very disappointed...

Some people i know who work at LAMC said that metallica have been booked fo feb next year! So start preparing.

The video is damn gay lah...the 2 soldiers looking at each other...One probably wanted to shaft the other...the other thinks it's never going to happen hence "The Day That Never Comes"....(Comes probably with pun intended)
