hey guys.
i want to enquire on how to get a good metal tone like those of trivium, bullet for my valentine and avenged sevenfold?
Like, what kind of gear should i be using and all?
Maybe abit of what the settings of effects or amps should be like?
thanks in advance.

I have a podxt live, epiphone les paul custom. No amp though , cause the podxt live is an ampmodeler so i usually use headphones.
i also have the metalzone which i bring to studios instead of bringing the whole podxtlive.

In that case gear-wise, you should not have a problem. It's down to your settings now. Try increasing the bass and reducing the treble, I find that increased bass makes chugging, palm-muted chords thicker and heavier.

heh, theres nothing weird about.

Its just plain normal coz a the frequencies that resonate with our hearing are pretty much different according to individual's sense of hearing.

In your case, in general, its just your preference of the eq frequency that happen to fall within that range.

Since you have a POD XT Live, use the Line 6 Insane settings and dial the bass, mids and treble to 3 or 2'o clock, 2'o clock and 12 o' clock respectively. This should give you a nice warm, thick and heavier sound.

Cheers ;)

start off by listening to real metal bands instead, to get an idea of good metal tones.
