Well said gutteral piss.
Well as a media student, i can say the elitist-populist model once again comes clear. It seems like elitists(aka hardcore death melodic prog mathematic) ppl would sort of hate the populist model( bands that have become popular or gone commercial, like Dragonforce, Metallica, etc.....glam metal bands, Poison, or simply not fierce enough). That being said, well its quite common and henceforth rather known true(although not universal truth)Even i disliked Metallica when the St Anger release came out, but now i realise: whats the point of hating them? their old stuff is good and they are still the gods that kickstarted the thrash metal scene. whether they suck now or not is not the point, you gotta give bands credit for coming up with the stuff they do.
The old dragonforce was hailed cool at that time(valley of the damned) cos they just sounded so different from any metal band out there. but at the height of their popularity(inhuman rampage) ppl started saying they were cheesy and all that...suddenly it became a trend(esp among death metal ppl) to start hating them and all that. But at the end of the day, whats the point of all that? Your comments are not going to make them change. Every band (death, progressive, metal, cheesy, whatsoever) is unique and different and we should just accept that.
oh and Nak, in case if you think this post is directed at you, please note that I've never once insulted any of the bands you mentioned. But you have insulted Dragonforce umpteen times already. Im cool with that. But please keep it with restraint. Also please note this post is purely analytical in nature.....its directed at no one, just a futile attempt to offer some insight that coerces with the topic.
