Meshuggah, which album to buy?

I'm trying to listen to Meshuggah, so which album to start to? thanks

If you're more into fast tempo thrashy stuff then 'destroy erase improve'.. if u like slower heavier stuff then 'nothing'. :lol:

Without a doubt, Destroy Erase Improve. Absolutely incredible album - Future Breed Machine is still my favourite Meshuggah song.

Yeah, I think Destroy, Erase, Improve is a very good album to start with. To me, that album is like their Master Of Puppets. Or you can check out their None E.P. which is now released together with their first album, Contradictions Collapse on one CD.

Interestingly enough Meshuggah themselves doesn't really have high regards for DEI. They claim that most of the riffs on that album were from old stuff that they dug up and to them, the album that really was groundbreaking was the album after that, Chaosphere, which heralded a new minimalist and repetetive style that became apparent in Nothing.
