Matchless DC-30 ($6,499):

The preamp sections are based on a layout of two 12AX7's in Channel 1 and one EF86 in Channel 2. The two 12AX7's in Channel 1 create a parallel-triode circuit with interactive bass and treble. The one EF86 in Channel 2 consists of a high-gain pentode coupled to a six-position tone switch. Outright benefits include quick dial-in of new tones and an easy return to the settings you learn to prefer. Also "high treble" cut control, master volume, with a bypass feature that offers flexible control of the power amp section.

The power amp is fed by a 12AX7 phase inverter, which drives four EL84 power tubes. The rectifier circuit gives you the flexibility of using one 5AR4 for a quick attack or you can use two 5V4's for a smooth round response.

Other professional features include an effects loop, half power-mode switch (a conservative 30 watts switching to 15 watts), output impedance selector (4, 8, 16 ohms) and a speaker phase-reverse switch.

Independence 35 ($6,299):

The Independence 35 is the first 35 watt 3 channel guitar amplifier in Matchless’ history! In addition to the signature backlit nameplate, the three channels light up red, white, and blue. Channel one (blue) is powered by one 12AX7 with a volume and tone control. Channel two (white) is powered by one 12AX7 and will provide ample chunk and crunch. Channel three (red) is all about fire. The master volume control is by-passable and features a cut control to thicken up and shave the highs. The power section of the Independence starts with a 5AR4 rectifier tube and the 35 watt output is powered by the two EL34s, which are cathode self biasing. A 3 position rotary switch allows for 4, 8, & 16 ohm output. The channels are switched through one footswitch jack.

The single channel King Cobra is a 35 watt amplifier based on the Clubman power section and offers both Reverb and Tremolo making it one of our most feature packed amplifiers!

Controls are volume, master tone, tremolo speed, tremolo depth, reverb, cut and master volume. It has the same features as the Cobra with the exception of 2 x EL34 tubes instead of 4 x EL84 tubes. High/low power switch, speaker phase selector. It has one EF86, four 12AX7s, two EL34s, and one 5AR4/GZ34.

The new single channel 30/15 is pared down but is capable of producing an incredible range of tone that will satisfy any pro.

Everything you love about Matchless is evident in this workhorse including rock-solid build quality, the highest quality parts and stunning tone.

Powered by a quad of EL84s, the 30/15 can be operated at 30 watts or at 15 watts with two of the power tubes de-activated. Controls are volume, tone and master volume. Sweet and simple. Reverb and tremolo are optional for even more versatility.

Hotbox ($899):

The Hotbox Classic is an active two channel tube preamp driven by two 12AX7 tubes. It is point to point, hand-wired in classic Matchless fashion and housed in a heavy duty, polished stainless steel enclosure complete with our signature back-lit logo and control panel. It uses the same top quality components as the Matchless amps down to the custom hand-wound transformer.

Channel one is clean and crisp but is also capable of producing an overdriven sound. Channel two features gain, bass, treble, and output-level knobs. Similar to the EQ circuit of the C-30 series, the bass and treble controls are highly touch responsive. Surprisingly, channel two can be eq’d to be rich and robust. The Hotbox Classic can also be used directly into mixing consoles and is ideal for recording.

An overall, excellent compliment for any amplifier whether it’s solid state or tube. The Hotbox Classic will level the playing field.
