Anyone heard this album yet? I have to say their sound has definitely matured! I am not a long-time fan (started with Blood Mountain). The reckless speed oriented music has been put aside for a much more structured music style. I have to say, I agree with Brent that this is a good change.

9/10 cause The Last Baron seems to be repeating itself for the most of the 13 minutes. Other than that, the album is truly awesome, not disappointing at all.

Fave tracks:
Oblivion
Divinations
The Czar'

In studio with Mastodon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nkeBG0nh84

for me its an ok album...
would give a 7.5/10

their leviathan and remission album wer the best!!!

sinz blood mountain i tink they have fall short on their music creativity...

"Fallen from grace cause I been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
Now I'm lost in oblivion"

I can't stop humming to the melody of the chorus!

I'm still getting into it, but yeah it's definitely better than Blood Mountain which was a bit of a disappointment. 8/10 so far.

i thought blood mountain kicked ass. from the drum roll of the first song to the laid back last song. its been awhile since i listened to them, cant remember the song titles. couldnt be bothered to check either.
and that song with the trippy video. amazing.
cant wait!!!!!

nike-no offense...crack the skye is good but i just feel that the leviathan and remission album were better..

back then their sound and song structure were fresh...

I thought Blood Mountain starts off amazingly with Wolf is Loose and Crystal Skull but then it just loses momentum with Sleeping Giant and never recovers. For me at least.

For me Leviathan is still their best album, in fact it's probably in my top 3 of all time. It inspired me so much that I even went out and bought the book Moby Dick. But the book damn cheem sia.

seabeast!!

I heard the album on their myspace site...I still haven't got into it...I like a few songs though...I did not like Divinations at first, sounded cheesy and ridiculous...but now after a couple of listens its grown on me...

One thing I noticed was the vocals are different on this album....

No offence taken tron.
It's just pretty cool to see people digging into good music.

My all time favourite is still Bladecatcher, from Blood Mountain :D
