Hi, I'm actually looking for a new amp and I'm currently lookin' at either the Marshall MG10CD or MG15CDR; as I've tried the MG10CD before but I've have not tried the MG15CDR yet... So I'm wondering which amp is better for bedroom practice...

The reason I'm looking for a new practice amp is mainly because I'm looking to upgrade it from my Laney LG12 as I'm looking for to upgrade it as I'm not so satisfied with it... And does anyone knows how much does the MG10CD and MG15CDR cost at Davis??
*Davis is only selling the MG10KK; I know that there isn't much difference between the MG10CD except for design... But I think Davis is selling it at $115 for the MG10KK...*

I'm mostly playing those general Rock music, Punk, Emo/Rock, Pop/Rock kind of music genres...

Oh ya, other amp suggestions would also be greatly appreciated :D Thanks! And sorry for the trouble... I'm still unsure of what decision to make... (:

I think you should save up more and get a really good practice amp like a Roland Cube or Vox Valvetronix. The last time I tried the MG, the overdrive sounded thin and fizzy. IMO of course.

Go for the MG15 Mirco stack with Beez mods. Nice, open crunch. Needs another gain pedal or a high output pup to give it that metal punch, but the amp is fine for me. It's actually my fav solid state amp to date.

You should try out Vox Valvetronix (30W amps in either VT, or XL versions) at CityMusic, Peace center. I am using it and 100% satisfied. It has excellent cleans, distortions and decent effects like delay and chorus. I don't need any pedals or effects anymore for practice.

One more good thing is that there are many preset settings available on the Internet for you to try. http://www.valvetronix.net/. Also be sure to check out the demo videos on Youtube. Here is one for you...

Compared to MG15CD, I would say Valvetronix is way much better.

Thanks... for the replies :D greatly appreciated... Err... I'm kinda on a tight budget too... and I have a Boss DS-1 pedal and I'm hoping to get a Digital Reverb pedal soon... So... I'm not really aiming for amps with effects... My guitar teacher told me to get a Marshall or Line 6 amp but he also told me to limit myself to only a 15watt amp... So I'm still thinking of which to get... But isn't the MG15MSII Microstack based on the MG15CDR except it's supplied with two 1x10" speaker cabinets?? But how much is the MG15MSII?? Sorry... for all the trouble... I'm also on a budget there... And thanks for all the replies :D
