One thing abt the DL4, durability on it is a bit hit and miss kinda thing. Mine died after 2 months had to bring it back and got a new one but have friends still going fine after 2 years. But great delay sounds though. I liked it better than the Echopark.
i thought i'll revive this thread again since i just went davis yesterday and tried the echohead.
I have to say this this is really worth ur money... I tried the digital delay sound and its really clear. Compared to the de7 that i'm using now which is borrowed from a friend.
The analog and tape sounds are good too. Doesnt mud up like the de-7 and the good thing is the tap tempo input.
Its housed like a tank!!! built to last. Dunno bout the switch though...
hmmm... from what i tried, yes, though the Echohead's echo doesn't mud up like the DE7, the echohead does not have as pronouced an echo effect as the Ibanez. Also, the DE7 sounds more vintage and warm. To my ears la....
Yes i agree with you shredcow. The DE-7 has this warmish flavour to if. A hint of the echo is great. I realise i have to turn the level down alot of times to clear the muddiness.
The marshall echohead is clearer sounding and it has 6 modes!!! I didnt try all but sure is good enough to handle all ur U2, coldplay wad ever songs... I think for the taptempo input, u can just buy an external footswitch and start tapping your own delay time.
Shredcow dun u think the tap tempo is a real bonus? the DD6 has tap tempo but it needs to be activated by holding on for 2 seconds. Which is quite long time.
The Marshall Echohead is going for $160. At davis.
One bad point when i tried is that the black lines of the knob is not really visible... haha u have to really bend down and stare den u can see. Cuz the knobs are metallic. So when i was tweeking the pedal, i had difficulty seeing my knob positions.... I know this sounds funny.
i'm looking to play a lil bit of u2 and maybe to get new reverb sounding leads out of it. is it possible? i wish i can test one but very busy lately. haha.
