Marshall and Laney Prices here!

this has been said and done to death but ill just like to say this again
for goodness sake, dont complain about prices, if you cant afford it, dont get it. just cause its available for cheaper in other countries dosent mean you can get it here for the same price.
Take the U.K. for example, even though marshalls are MADE IN THE UK, its cheaper to get them in Davis. I hardly see anyone in the overseas forums whining almost everyday about how their music store is ripping them off and that they have no choice and keep complaining.
I hope more time can be devoted into either playing the instrument, or READING up on new gear, or for the matter, WORKING, so as to be able to afford the stuff that you want to get, but cant get cause "swee lee keeps ripping us off!!" .
Its a matter of choice whether you want to get stuff from them. You could always go the other way and import stuff directly from the USA, which i do pretty frequently myself, or just stop complaining for once.
Prices are set for a reason, and no matter how much you complain, they will stay, just keep that in mind the next time you write another thread whining about the prices here.

We're not whinning bout prices. Just wanna know why it used to be available for around 500bucks and now its 900+.

i dont think anyone in the forum would know why it has increased in price.
you could call swee lee up to check and im sure you could get the answer right from the source

I took those prices so people who wanna buy amps at this price range can have a reference.
As for me, i wanted to get the Laney LC15R until i heard of the price.

well if you've been here long enough, you'll notice that i'm a fan of the products per se, not the price. the reason why i didn't start any thread/ post which is price-related. i'm a definite advocate for any good products, affordability issues remain to be a personal conflict.
with regards to the LANEY LC15R (or other LC models out there now), i still stand my ground- they are wonderful sounding tube amps to have made it here. however, the repulsive prices made them a fiend to many of us, my enthusiasm in acquiring them have been extinguished, the only way for it to rekindle is when there is an opportunity for me to get them for FREE... yes, i'm that disappointed.

nope i haven't done that. i don't have a AVT to begin with, but i'm really selling my stuff to getmy hands on one!
no one in sg carries speakers according to the posts in this forum.there's a fair bit of postings on the harmonycentral reviews & users who swear by doing this... because the Marshall stock speakers are "low-quality".
as for me i'm thinking of getting it first, then doing changes one at a time.

ok i just talked to the sweelee auntie. the one is bras basar.
I went up innocently and asked her why the laney so ex. Den she replied nicely saying this batch is actually made in UK... Ok snob pride... british amps made in brit. wahaha
They she went on asking me which one i want. i pointed out the LC15R. She said she can sell me for $850.
Basically the prices i places earlier is at 20% discount. Sweelee gives 30%.
