- Specify model? Red one? Silver one? Hahahah. Which one? I know there's the ms-2 which is a belt fitted half stack amp. If i'm not wrong the M15CDR is going at 185?

aha. that 10watter.
btw the red one i think is kerryking 10watt mg series. which is NO MORE
any ideas to get it?

Btw. hmm about roland cubes. i think they are albiet pricy in my budget range. really hard to fork out 200+
hmm. i took so long to collect it. and now also surviving under my soundrive mini amp lol serious.! and it gets overdriven easily at high volumes.

still. anomore good recommendations.

OUH yes.. forgot ot mention
i play metal. my equipment is currently. mt2.marshal jh-1.biyang ds-7.
so im really into hi-gain distortion. metal.. something heavy... and still maintain tone..

You can get the Kerry King MG at Look For Beez!

I just saw it today. Think its Beez modded too man.

eh serious? btw pmed you.

hmm. guys but how bout the roland cube?
hmm which will you pick between a

Roland Cube15 vs Marshall 10watt
in terms of headroom, tone , pedal friendly,
Long lastingness, trusted. try not to
compare FX capability and the watts

hmm.. guess the MG10
only have the TONE knob. :(
hmm.. guess its roland cube for me..
but hmm i really love marshalls

What shud i do?

btw. shud i invest in Kustom amps instead?. hmm. any owners of kustoms?

dude most marshall solid states are seriously pretty bad. dont simply say u want a marshall because so many musicians use it it must be really good or it looks cool or something. yes the higher end marshalls like the JTM, JCM, vintage modern are really good. but those are way out of ur budget and are tube amps. to me the solid states are a real let down. even the hybrid AVT series was disappointing. a roland cube is the way to go.. they can be found at swee lee.

or if u're on a budget and u want something with on board effects, try the vox DA5.

abt kustom amps, i only have experience with the tube amps, not the lower end solid states. sorry cant help u there.

Woah tube amps.btw, im not patronising marshall as many players use it. and there are alot more brands out there. Mesa(will blow up my room). Laney. lotsa.
hmm seems its rolandcubes in my list.

btw i dun mind the onboard effects. as i have my pedalboard modulation too
thanks guys

oh but. forgot to mention. 150 might be out of ur budget. u could source for one at the buy/sell though

hmm yeap thats a problem to me tho.. i cant find $250 anywhere!.
hmm. or ill just till school reopens and save up. holiday no daily income!

heh. is it the guy with the great blog?
btw aha thanks all for the help.
im gonna follow dudelove advice. and everybody who posted here as well .
thanks again.

:( been playing on a marshall mg15cdr for about 6 yrs.. I admit i bought it as it did look cool to me at that point in time:rolleyes:

anyway finally my new amp is coming next week from blackwood!

(on topic) i agree with dudelove that the small models of marshall are not very toneful. they aren't very responsive and the plywood usually vibrates at high volumes. however you can get a rather good sound if you play around with the knobs.

I suggest you head down to swee lee and try multiple amps. try get one with at least an 8" speaker (or bigger if you have more shillings).

Just get a blackheart Little Giant Head. Its a 5W full tube amp with a 12' speaker that pwns most crappy SS amps like for instance a Marshall MG15. Now retailing at only 450 at yamaha, head and cab.

My advice is dont be too close-minded when it comes to brand cos its more about tone and what gives the best value for money at the end of the day. Marshall makes good amps but imo only their higher-end JCM/JVM/JTM amps are the ones that are authentic to the brand name. Everything else is just to fill market space...hey that 15 yr old kid cant afford a 100w tube amp, give him a 15 watter and slap the marshall name on it and he'll buy it, ya know'?
