EugeneSmasher gives one of the best advice in this thread i guess.. well, if you really wan fender tone.. get a FENDER! after all the electronic changes and stuff.. you will end up a price of MIM Fender i guess.. but still.. EMG ACTIVE ARE THE BEST FENDER PICKUP I PLAYED XD!

i'd say if you change to stock strat pups, you'd already be 80% there.

have to agree with jumpin'jellybean on this...are u sure?? the fender CS cost a real bomb u know. i havent heard of any emg CS till date. pls correct me if i'm wrong...

If I'm not wrong the fender CS is almost USD300 and the dave gilmour EMG prewired set is about USD 250 and thats with the whole pickguard, pots, wiring, selector switch etc..

ray8hs: I think you can get a stock fender pickup for around $200 depending on what model. If you want better pickups you can go for brands like stan hinesleys, lollar, bareknuckle etc..

True that these pickups are more expensive but that doesn't necessarily mean they are better. It really boils down to a matter of preference.

Yeah, I agree that its a lot to do with preference.

To me the stan hinesleys are definitely better than the average stock fender pickups. Of course the custom shop might be a different story but I've not tried them and the prices are higher than stan hinesleys anw..

Speaking of fender pickups dont mind if i side track a little, im actually looking at getting fender's scn pups but i believe there were d/ced so yea any idea where i can actually get my hands on em? cant seem to find them around not even on the foreign web stores...
