Made of Guitars?

Buy American, Obama said so.

Anyway, country of origin may not necessarily indicate the quality of the guitar, but it seems to always have this uncanny effect on consumer's perception of guitars. And yup, the country of origin affects resale price, alot.

i don't know about you guys, but i tend to be a ever so little more weary when it comes to korean chinese and indonesian guitars. i will spend extra effort to test and inspect it as opposed to japanese or american guitars. rationale being i don't trust the qc standard or consistency of the above mentioned. usually they pass, but then again, it's usually and not always.. but then again, i don't fully trust japanese and american guitars either. u never know when u're the lucky one to have picked a quirk on the shelves.

I would too. Ironically, My chinese squier has way better QC than my Korean Ibanez RG....

any country of make is more or less a hit or miss..
US made guitars are known to cock up also.

If heng then u'll get a good piece.
If suay your fender custom shop might not be so perfect also.

:)

Hasn't Ibanez stopped their manufacturing operations in Korea?

yea. Stopped in korean. Went to Cort Indonesia. Thats what inspired the video. Note that in a section, the workers were complaining they taught the indo workers everything and the factory closed down..

In other words, they shut down ops in Korea and moved to Indonesia. Perhaps labour is cheaper there.

Yup. The MII versions are a lot cheaper than the previous MIK versions. If the quality is the same, then it's a good move in my opinion. :p
