made in indonesia ibanez

Don't remember if it was this particular site but the last time I tried tracking my guitar online, it told me it was made in Korea. In actual fact, it's made in China!

Now I remember. It's a different site. But once again it told me my guitar was made in Korea. Well.. I wouldn't really trust these kind of websites. Nothing beats asking the manufacturer itself.

im not one who looks at the MIwhat in guitars, but i recently acquired an indonesian made ibanez guitar which somewhat is not of pristine quality. hehe. :):(;)

but somehow i feel is at least better than MIC...(no offence) from head to toe in terms of paint work so n so on

The very worst Ibanez I've played is a $1.7K ICT700. It was flat-out terrible. Felt unbalanced, paintjob was like nippon paint. I can't judge the tone though, since I was testing it on a small-wattage Laney SS amplifier. But it was terrible.. That guitar was MII.

I haven't played many MII Ibanezes so I won't say they're all bad, but I won't pay more than $1K for an MII Ibanez. And it's gotta be one that really impresses me.

MIC Ibanezes are the GIO series. Standard range Ibanezes are made in Korea and Indonesia. I have an Ibanez GIO and it far surpasses the MII ICT700 I tried... IMO.

i currently own Japanese/ Korean/ Chinese/ Indonesian Ibanez models with no issues. some of the non-Jap units in my line-up are more appealing in every aspect, to the Jap counterparts. it's not about the country of origin per se, it's the inherent QC that matters.

i recently bought a made-in-India Jackson; superb QC for the money.

Agreed. Country of origin shouldn't be a main determining factor in QC standards. I'm actually expecting to find a good MII Ibanez one day (hopefully an SA120, so I can buy it!)
