Hey there, I'm looking for fellow hip-hop heads (rappers, producers, instrumentalists) to start a rap collective. I'm deeply into old school hip-hop, sample driven music and loops. Some of my favourite hip-hop acts are Wu Tang Clan, Kanye, Kid Cudi, Brockhampton, Vince Staples, A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock, J Dilla, Grime stuff like Dave, Skepta, SlowThai, Ghetts, Dizzee Rascal, as well as experimental stuff like Kaytranada, Clams Casino, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Jpegmafia, Death Grips, Cities Aviv. I also like some of the newer stuff like 21 Savage, Roddy Rich, Li' Yachty.
I play the bass guitar (been playing 6 years plus) and rap (although I'm not that polished yet). I'm hoping to freestyle more often and trade verses with fellow aspiring rappers. Will be great if there could be producers that could form beats for us to rap over.
I used to have a band that did sort of a rap/blues/lo-f direction (you can check out some demos here), so am hoping to do something either in the slightly experimental or emotional rap direction.
This group could be more of a passion project sort of thing, for fellow hip hop heads to trade ideas and make music together. Would love to hear what you think!
Hit me up at 92272830 and give me a short introduction of yourself, what you do, and what are some of the music you dig.
Cheers!
Evan
