Looking for Guitar.. Pls help..

Hi. I'm looking for a guitar mainly for j rock/metal stuff. preferably ESP or sth similar. budget around 500-600. Can anyone pls recommend me a decent one for that price? Cos my current jazz pickups cant bring out the punch when i play such music.. Thanks..
 
It isn't always the guitar.

The guitar and the amp.

Try to save for a better amp, you'd be amazed how much difference it makes.
 
with ur budget u cant buy ESP but only ESP LTD..
changing ur pickups to higher output type will be a wise choice or u might wan to upgrade ur pedals
 
Someone once told me a mid-high end range of a low-mid range brand is better than a low end range of a high end brand. Hope it makes sense. Cort makes pretty good guitars IMO.
 
LTDs are recommended. Well-made, feel great too. Generally, as long as you have humbuckers (whether high or low output, because low output is just less volume. You can just increase the volume) you can get heavy tones.

If your guitar currently has humbuckers, you might want to take a look into your amplifier and your pedals. Are your Jazz pickups humbuckers or singlecoils?
 
Hi All. Thanks so much for the prompt reply. My pickups currently are single coiled.. n i actually intend to reserve this guitar for the gentle side of me. lol.. as such i would prefer looking for another guitar instead of changing pickups.. Pls advise if anyone feels strongly against this. As for the amp part, my guitar has no punch at all not only on my amp at home, but also on those big-ass amps when i do gigs outside. yups.. So can you all pls guide me along some more?? Thanks a lot..

I've been told from some good sources that some of the favroutite pickups for many metal bands happens to be the SD 59s... for BOTH neck and bridge...

Shouldn't that tell you something?

haha yeah true. my guitar is installed with 59 n JB.. i normally use JB pickup cos 59 lacks the treble JB gives me. I prefer using 59 for clean stuff and sometimes for those damn heavy tone cos it's really very beefy.

Mark Morton from Lamb of God uses the 59s in both neck and bridge...

I thought he uses Invaders? Anyway, I have both JB/Jazz combo & Invader installed on my guitars. Invader is awesome for chugga-chugga and JB is just slightly less than that (not really noticeable to me). Invader is not as versatile as JB though.
 
alrite folks. guess I'll go check out the esp ltd and most prob settle for it.. thanks a lot for all your help =)
