Looking for a tube amp...

in all due fairness- maybe the MESA's tones appeal to you; some of us can't get along with the MESA after hearing it in person.

It didn't appeal to me on its own. It was how well the MI Tubezone OD paired with the amp that caught my attention. It produced a vintage tone, which surprisingly was very hi-fi. I didn't really like the gain stages of the Mesa. It may sound good recorded, but it didn't impress live. It was an extremley neutral amp which didn't colour my guitar tone much. I left it to the Tubezone for that during leads. And the blackstar distortion rang nicely thru the amp too, while most of the time, it's normally a bit flat. I liked how the amp beefed up the normal clean tones without adding colour like other amps.

If you play classic rock and do not like tweaking much, do give the orange tiny terror a try. Really great, no-nonsense rock amp.

there is a combo at GC and 6505 cn be found at Sweelee at a very super duper overpriced rate.

hi there 8-)

if you aren't too amp drive dependent, the Epiphone Valve Jr is a great buy.

there's also the Biyang 2203 to consider

u tried this? any review?

Hey, haha thanks guys for the info. I have tried the Tiny Terror, it's really great, but it just... doesn't suit my style. I really need an amp with good cleans, and I don't really like the Tiny Terror for cleans, but man when you crank the gain up, can get great hard rock tones. I haven't heard the Mesa in person, but I have heard its a pretty metal amp, I don't know bout that one, but, I don't plan on playing metal. Anyone have any idea where can I test a Mesa, and approximately how much one costs? Thanks!

Cheers,
WWH

Hey again, if this helps. The reason why I'm changing my Marshall MG30DFX is because it doesn't go well with my Tubescreamer. And my main guitar is a strat, sometimes I use a Les Paul. I may need amp drive. Thanks!

Cheers,
WWH
