with a 24 fret single coil, i think you sorta lose the highs on the neck. Cant get that classic fender tone. Maybe im wrong

Perhaps the question be of, what wud be a fender classic tone?

The configuration in it is wired like a strat. The guitar still sound like how a single coil sounds like, the 2 and 4th postition still have that quack character like a strat. I have the lowest of the range version of that guitar, perhaps it doesnt sound like strat to some(purist?), but the single coil character is all in there...

the 3 way switch look alike is actually a 2 way switch that bypass the one and only volume knob on the guitar, enabling the sound to go straight to output, without the pot in between.

nope. cant get that real strat sound IMO. especially on the neck pickup where the positioning is totally screwed off if you have more than 22 frets.

if anyone interested, heres 2 clips of G chord, one with fender strat and overpriced booteek pickup while the other with grassroot version(stock pickup) of the guitar in the pic above

Which clip is which guitar, perhaps its obvious. Lets see how it sounds like in your words.

For both clip, the G start from bridge, bridge+middle, Bridge+neck, middle+neck and lastly, just neck.

Both guitars are modded without the middle pickup alone, so in middle position(5 way switch), its bridge+neck combo.

both guitar recorded straight into recorder, no special efx enhancement done except raising signal level + hiss/hum to audible level
