For those of you, or your parents, who remember Singapore in the 60's and 70's....long hair was seriously frowned upon. The government then was up and against "the menace of the yellow culture", also known as the hippie movement, or the decadent West. Back then, nong nong time ago....
long hair = no interviews, no jobs, no future
long hair in school = public caning + discipline master cut for you (botak)
long hair = strictly no TV appearances on RTS/SBC
long hair = cannot enter public swimming pool (scared got kutu)
long hair at Woodlands checkpoint = balik Malaysia until you cut your hair!
long hair in government offices = see picture below
Well, times have changed for the better. So why are people still complaining?
