Logic Studio 9 release!

Pretty much like Snow Leopard. Not many new features but a HUGE bump in workflow. Hopefully it's crossed over to 64 Bits.

Oh yeah. PPC owners have been dumped. This upgrade supports only Intel machines.

More presets amps etc. I'm excited! especially Mainstage.

Joel, RET percussion snare.... drools. Just got my USB Pro drumkit.

RET Percussions? One of you guys ordered one??

Logic Droid how's the USB pro kit? Did you order the Trigger I/O separate? Sinamex told me they're not bringing it in cause of low demand.

What do you think of the drum heads on the trigger pads on the pro kit? A little deep for me.

Been looking at the DTxpress Special with the 12" tri zone snare, much shallower head for the snare, kind of DW loike. Planning on Midi USB interface with the Dtxpress module to work with BFD2. I know kind of wasted cause I'm not using any of the module sound (Suck!) but need it for that Tri zone snare.

What you guys think?

Just got my copy of LP9. YAY! Flex tool is pretty amazing!

Traq, Got the drum package as a whole bundled with Trigger IO and BFD lite..

The heads are ok for me as I'm only an occasional drummer although I find it a little deep as well. All the pads and cymbals work as published although the pads are not as sensitive as other brands however ok for tom work. Bang for the buck...

I've got a PD80R from Roland as a temp snare which works great apart from it being too bouncy and an extra 12" single zone hi-hat to act as a crash.

That said, the challenge here is really the calibration of the hi-hat pedal. I'm still working on it... Anyone care to share? Joel, any tips?

As for tri zones - It's a great feature but I prefer single zones as there's less crosstalk issues.

I guess the DT would be a better start than the DM5 just for the tri feature... I don't look at it as a waste as the module holds the feature, without it, using tri zone trigger pads would be utterly useless ;)

Joel recommended a snare from Hart Dynamics but I'm set for a RET Percussion snare and eventually the whole kit. Anybody wants to get on the wagon for the snare?

Erm.... about LP9, is it faster? More bug fix. Sometime I got crash. Sometime I delete a region, there are some region gone with it and can't redo in Undo history. Is it smart enought to know CC control in AU plug in, like the one in GB9. One thing, can it do pitch correction in audio region(or destructive in area in audio editor?

Apparently in it's current iteration (Logic 9.0.0) is 32bit. Snow Leopard's release and a future Logic update may change that.

Still 32 bit - why? Most Windows DAWs are already true 64-bit compliant. Even NI just released their newest udpate - Kontakt 3.5 - which is 64-bit compliant (which means its time to take out my extra RAM and move up to 8GB RAM...woohoo!).

If Apple wants to keep up with the competition, they should put 64-bit as one of their top prorities in Logic development.

From website, Kontackt 3.5 don't eat up 32 bit Protool or logic memory address. Of cos too new to be proved. They only have a screenshot to prove that.
