Logic Pro finally 64-bit!

Well, finally Logic Pro (v9.1) is natively 64-bit. Just like Sonar and Cubase, they developed a bridge allowing 32-bit plugins to work within 64-bit (under RAM limitations of 32-bit).

The next thing is to see if there are any bugs esp using the bridge (as with most new 64-bit apps that come up). So far, Sonar is still the most stable.

Anyway, glad Logic finally joined Sonar and Cubase.

PS: Logicdroid, I don't believe I beat you to announcing this news!!!! :)

Nice one.

I've just installed it 2 days ago. The sweet thing is you have the option to run either 32 or 64 bit by selecting the app/right click/ get info then selecting which one you wish to run. Logic will indicate 32 or 64bit when you launch the app. You'll see it in the splash screen. This works for Mainstage 2 as well..

Since version 8, Apple have really done their homework listening to the needs of end-users and implementing the features.

I'm really happy with this upgrade as I no longer have to monitor my ram usage in Logic when using EWQLSO. Previously, once I'm close to 4 gigs of ram usage, adding another instrument in EWQLSO would crash the system.

Btw, off topic, I've posted a link to try out the stripped down silver version. Not a lot of instruments but ample.

Best,
R.
