Live Looping

I'm sure most of us would want to practice our scales and improvise solos over a backing track. Live looping is one way where players can layer rhythms, be it live or in the comfort of their rooms.

This is one such example:

The purpose of this thread? While many would like to try this out, or simply save the hassle of recording to the com and set it on playback, I was wondering if some softies could recommend some of the live looping device available in the market!

We can then rate it into two categories:
a) A good live looper, most suitable for live performances. There is no need to upgrade to a better unit as this is already able to hold its on ground.
b) An affordable live looping device used mostly by bedroom players or people who want to try it out.

All suggestions would be appreciated! :D

Perhaps I should start the ball rolling!

B) DOD DFX-94 Digital Delay/Sampler

This pedal is a delay through and through.. But its 4 sec delay with infinite repeats make it suitable for a simple looper.. However, you are limited to 4 sec of looping only, and each layer created would cause the volume of the previous layer to decrease.
It may cost around $150, but since this is a discontinued pedal, chances of finding it is slim..

theres some threads on looping/loopers in the gutiar forum, if your are interested, might like to take a look or search for those

ehx deluxe memory man cant do looping. But the new one, mm with hazarai, that one can loop, but iam not too sure with the duration of looping. IF you are interested, just google for the spec

to save hassle of repeating many things which can be found over the net, check out this site first

http://www.loopers-delight.com/loop.html

basically most of the looping devices(from rack mount, pedals format, with delay/withoutdelay function etc) info can be found in there. At least going thru half of whats in there, it be a good intro into looping and stuff.

4 sec of looping time is really too short for most thing imho. By the time one count along in unison to get the timing right to start looping, everything be over soon

Saw the digitech jam man.. Seems quite attractive.. But 700 bucks is pricey..

i use a jamman.. its pretty expensive (although i got it during the sale) but i needed the xlr input and more control over the stored loops. plus the level knob of the loop is conveniently placed for me to fade in/out a loop using my toe.

looping is really fun and simple once you get the hang of it. some things to work on is timing and being able to play almost flawlessly cos tiny bump notes will be caught in the loop! you can undo and redo lah but it affects the flow of the song.

line 6 spider jam? I posted the link b4 and don't wanna be spamming so i won't post the link again.

Its a 75w amp with 24min of looping recording time + jam tracks to play with.
Can do multiple overdubs and save your recordings as jam tracks. Also has input for mic, aux input for kb or acoustic guitar.

List is 800+
But they'll give discount if u ask city music for it.
Should be slightly less than 700 after discount.
