the easiest way to determine if a pedal is true bypass or not is to plug it in without any power source (adaptor/batteries). if your signal still goes through its TB.

Nope. Sorry. What the battery-out test will tell you is if your pedal has a mechanical switch that carries signal or not. Take a look at one of the SPDT diagrams again - when the effect is powerless, the bypass line will of course still function as intended, but the effect input is still attached to it. No true bypass there, then.

yeah kinda off topic. my board consists of a boss ns-2 (run as a gate) -> jekyll and hyde (silver) -> digitech bad monkey -> ls-2 (with johnson jstation in the loop,preamps and modelling bypassed and run for ambient/modulation efx) -> ibanez dl-10 delay

i throw in some other stuff as an when its needed but those are the main pedals..

i was thinking of a clever way to say this,but well...its bloody bloody good.

IMHO it blows away tubescreamers,modded or otherwise and most of whatever boutique overdrives i've tried.
i'm currently using it as a semi-clean boost, it has tonnes of level on tap and the hi/low EQ pots work way better than a single tone pot. construction is solid as hell as well..very heavy. great battery access method.
the only gripe i have with it is that the footswitch doesnt really engage as solidly as boss pedals, it has sort of a mushy feel and i've doubletapped it more than once onstage before when i wasn't sure if i hit it right the first time..

cool! yea I also agree the switch feels harder to activate than Boss's. There is no affirmative 'click' or something.
