Line 6 Tone Port or line 6 pod 2.0

Hi could someone please explain to me whats the differences with line 6 tone port and pod 2.0?Both allows me to connect my guitar to the computer and use my speakers as amps right?they are somehow a replacement for amplifiers ?Correct me if im wrong cause im have no idea Which is better?Metal riffs and rock which sounds better?

Hey man. the tone port has been replaced by pod studio which is more suitable for recording purposes and etc. For the tone port/pod studio, you have to use a computer to adjust the settings and things like that. but for pod 2.0, you can adjust the settings with the knobs on the pod 2.0.

and I think you can also connect the pod 2.0 to your amplifier.. so it's definitely more versatile as compared to tone port/pod studio.
