Line 6 PODxt

Lifehouse - like i said earlier, the only way to get digital output is to connect variax straight to VettaII thru Cat5..
by the way r u sure nobody? then how to control the effects when playing live if u dont connect PODxt with footcontroller or PODxt Live to VettaII? u need to connect PODxt Live or PODxt with the footcontroller to VettaII if u play live rite?

hoester - for recording u can make a digital setup from variax > pod > pc or variax > VettaII > pc..i do understand dat..but wat about playing live? how to get digital output from variax > PODxt Live > VettaII setup? wat for pay so much but in the end its the same analog output? if it cant make an all digital setup to the amp i might as well use an analog setup for the moment..

bear in mind that both variax and gibson magic pickup the analog signals from each strings and then convert them to digital files..its means that inside the guitar there is an A/D converter..i realli believe all the connection of ur gears from guitar to amp should be digital to avoid repeated conversion of A/D or D/A becoz inside the guitar an A/D conversion has already been done..so we should avoid another conversion rite? conversion can affect the sound and tone rite? correct me if im wrong..

i realli love line 6 products..i hope someone can correct me..

Since I might be getting the Flextone 3, I will try and do a mini review of the Vetta II and the compatibility. No guarantees.. Hehe..

Think of Vetta II as the Pod XT uber elite brother. Basically, all you need is a foodswitch or in this case FBV (Footswitch shortboard or the normal with two expression pedals), to access all your presets and stompboxes effects from the vetta. I dont think you need Pod XT in the first place. :)

1. POD XT Live to Variax (Cat 5 or RJ 45 should you need to know)

2. Vetta II (With FBV) to Variax (Cat 5 or RJ 45 should you need to know)

The floorboard basically only receive the presets from your amp and sends to the amp what you do to it, eg step on preset A etc..

Think of FBV as a modem which sends and receive the signal from the amp. The FBV has no tone processing capabability but sends it to the amp (computer) to process the tone. Sorry if it sounds too geeky, as I used to take IT. Haha..

Hope it helps.

I think that was pretty much a non-constructive post. I don't support or dont support Line 6 just in case I sound pro-line 6 in my previous posts.

Better? Please give us a neutral comparison. Which means you have tried both. :)

Affordable? If you're talking about GT6 or ME50, then the V-Amp is more affordable. Not every one wants the cheaper stuff and sometimes for good reason.

Software upgradability?

Direct recording to computer capability?

I apologize in advance if my post seems offensive to anyone.

Edited the accused post of being non-constructive. And its Cat5, who on earth will use some 1/4 or XLR for digital output?
