Line 6 PODxt

Theres gd n bad abt pod xt, if u wanna use for recordin, its would be great cos it gt e USB thingy. E pod sounds very thin n brittle, at a low vol its nice but once u bring it for jammin, gone case bro. Even for live gig, its troublesome. i would recommend Boss GT-6, thier sounds is nice, smooth n tight(even if boost up e Drive)...so think abt it!!

The XT is great for recording. I don't think I'd want to use anything else. But for live, it's not really as fun. There's just something about having lots of stompboxes that's more fun than pre-set patches.

Oh, the XT wah sucks.

I dont recall any problem like that?

I dont really have any problem with that.
But I'm just using a POD 2 with floorboard.

To me the POD is like a tone chameleon. It can do like almost anything.
Just use your ears.
Its got pretty convincing "recording" tone and live wise, its pretty powerful man, I like the cab sims the most. and the Modern hi-gain sim.

Everything is down there alrady, brittle and thin or chuggy heavy is up to you to finetune with your ears.

I'm not sure about the POD XT. So far hear it does great for modelling.

I might get a Flextone III modelling amp sometime soon. But I might give the XT a try next time I go City Music.

You might want to consider a Johnson USA amp. They have a tube preamp and are easy to change sounds /patches etc. No hidden menus. They have floorboards same as PODs and are more real sounding modelling amps than Line 6. The benefeit is you get a live amp, I think up to around 120 watts and you can also use headphones for practice and they have a line out for recording same as POD etc, More versatile. I dont know where to buy in Singapore though. ??

Actually Line 6 has a product called variax which is already in stores. Gibson digital guitar has yet to go on sale as far as I know.

The Variax has both analog and Cat5 digital output. The Cat5 digital output is for connecting to the flagship amp Vetta II and also to Work Bench, a USB interface to connect the Variax to the computer for customization.

The upgrades that has been planned for both Variax and POD XT is going to last many years down the road. There are too many to list out...Model Packs Expansion...Guitar Port...Line 6 Edit...Custom Tone...Variax Work Bench...etc

Some of the other upgrades are still confidential!

New products rolling out...pretty soon...

Nobody uses POD with Vetta II. Vetta II itself is like an improved POD. So just plucked the variax straight in.

The Vetta II has both analog (1/4" & XLR) and digital audio output (SPDIF/AES EBU) for a variety of different live and studio connections.

The POD XTs has analog output 1/4" and USB digital audio output for software recording. In other words, the POD XT when connected to a computer via USA is a very high quality sound card for recording your guitar tracks onto multi-track recording softwares.

Why don't you try out the Variax and POD XTs at City Music Showroom to find out if they are really that good...

Cheers!!

I see your point. I might as well use my Digitech GNX2 for playing live unless the time comes when digital is widely in used. My GNX2 is a DIGITAL guitar effects processor and i use 1/4" to pluck it to amp coz that's the only way to connect it to an amp. The output sound in the end is ANALOG. No digital way to connect it to the amp. Furthermore, there is no digital amp here in singapore i guess. But I realli treasure my GNX2 its realli easy to use and very convenient when u wanna change effects when playing live.
