Line 6 or Marshall

Hi guys, i have a Line 6 Spider III 15 watt Amp, i am getting sick of the metal and insane channel. Metal channel = too heavy and low, insane = gives alot of fuzzy noises. i play 60% punk 40% metal, a bit more punk becuase its easier to play as i am just a beginner. not even a year yet. was planning on getting the Marshall MG15CD which i saw at davis. dont really dare to try the MG14CD at Davis guitarShop as im just a beginner and it WILL BE very embarssing for me to play some 'easy' songs in the shop. so what do you guys think? the Line 6 or the MG15CD ?

thought about a roland cube but, i have a tight budget. whats the difference between the 30watt and the 15watt? i see people recommending the micro cube or the 30 watt but not the 15 watt, whats the difference? and how much is the 15 & 30 watt acctually? i know they sell it at sweelee BB.

If you can, get the 30x as there are more effects and it can emulate more amp models. Try find second hand? I haven't heard many good things about the Marshall Mg series.

I forgot to mention, i will be buying a Barber Dirty bomb pedal soon. so you guys think i sohuld switch amp to a MG15CDR or a Roland Cube 30? or will i just do fine with my Spider 15x?

VOX AD30VT.They're damn good for a practice amp.Lots of amp models nice cleans too.Check them out at CityMusic

If he's getting a pedal for distortion, I'd suggest going for something that has great cleans, and takes pedals well. I'd say Vox Pathfinder 15R. If you want Marshall solid-states, try the AVT series.

no they are very affordable and they are not tube. hybrids. one 12ax7 in the preamp. just to let u know, that is not enough to make a significant change in overall tone however that does not make this any worst off an amp.

its a good amp, but u should also give the newer VT series a go.

Line 6 Spider III 15 watt Amp seems good to me, but anyway if i were to be you i dun mind using the same. Or maybe you would want to change ur effect sound setting instead.. what effect are you using btw..

Modelling amps arent meant to be taken with pedals.The're made with lots of amp models and effect so that u dont need to buy pedals and stuff.If im not wrong the AD30 is around 200++.

Best not to use pedals with modelling amplifiers like the Roland Cube and Line 6 Spider. Use a solid-state or valvestate amplifier instead. They're simpler and more suited for pedals. You'll notice that modelling amplifiers aren't very popular.

spend more time tweaking your existing setup
you should be able to get some good tones out of it

there is only so much a small amp setup can sound good
it will never compare with a large 4x12 setup
or a 2x12 cranked

upgrading to a better small amp will definately give improvements
but not worth it if all you do is bedroom volume

alternatively, why not save on the pedal and just get a good modelling amp like the Roland Cube 30 or 60 which really should be sufficient for your needs. if ever SL brings it in, i've seen good reviews for the Peavey Vypyr series as well. The youtube demos sound good too. my 0.2 cents worth. cheers
