Line 6 M9 + Godlyke Powerall VIDEO PROOF

After reading JoshuaSama's posts, I had trouble sleeping the past few nights. Have I been carrying the Line 6 AC power brick for the past 2 years for no reason? What is the meaning of life?

I decided to settle it once and for all. I would put my M9 on the line, and Powerall the shit out of it.

Line 6 M9 - $450 secondhand
Godlyke Powerall 9vDC 2A adapter - $30 secondhand
Godlyke Green jumper cable - $8 new from Ebenex
Balls - Priceless

Reason why this works: I guess the M9 has a rectifier at the power input to convert AC to DC after all. Using DC just bypasses the rectifier harmlessly. Reason why nobody on TGP / HC / Line6 forums has confirmed this until now (though some have suggested it): I DON'T KNOW! Possibly because the few people who dared to try used OneSpots, and the 9vDC 1.7A from a OneSpot is not enough to start up the M9 in stable condition (usual reported problems are flickering LEDs). I don't know the science behind it. But the 9vDC 2A from the Godlyke is enough to start up and support all functions (3 effects + looper simultaneously) of the M9.

This is the jumper cable you need. It's centre-positive and fits other Line 6 products like DL4. It costs $8 at Ebenex.
Godlyke C-GN-R Cable Green Right Angle Jumper (there is also a non-right angle version)

I don't know if the similar OneSpot L6 Converter will work, but technically they should be identical.

So big thanks to JoshuaSama and the jerks at Line 6 who have been suppressing this information.

Let me state first that I have 0 expertise in any kind of electrical or electronic engineering.

But from my layman understanding and reading up, you cannot possibly harm a pedal that has an AC to DC rectifier by supplying it with (the reasonable voltage/current) of DC.

The opposite (supplying a normal DC powered pedal with AC) would be disastrous though.

If I volunteer my M9, does anyone with the expertise want to open it up and check for the bridge rectifier that all clues indicate must be in there?

Also, as far as I can tell my noise floor has not increased compared to using the Line 6 AC adapter, though it's always a hit and miss when you mix multiple DSP / digital pedals on the same daisy chain. I have 2 other digital and buffered pedals - Strymon blueSky and Boss PS-6, one analog OD and one buffer on the same daisy chain.

hahahaha u my god damn savviour! this is what i wanted for my board i dun use a lot of other efx just a G30, EBS compressor, tuner, looper pedal + m9 + ebvp jr. it will free up some space as i wanna add in a few fuzz pedal.

will that work? gosh i wana go down to blackwoods get that green thingy and a godlyke adaptor 2mA!

i am going to spead this like wildfire!

The swirly noise would be the clock, yeah. Are you daisy chaining with other digital pedals? For gigging, I live with the clock noise with my setup (M9, blueSky, PS-6 are digital), but when recording, isolating either the M9 or blueSky greatly reduces the noise to negligible.

I would also try different combinations of DSP and true bypass on the M9 with other buffered pedals.

Yup clock noise. was trying to think of the term..

Yup.. I'm using it daisy chained with a 7th, boosty, lovepedal E and polytune. yeah that's what i'll have to do haha. I tried it earlier this morning and the clock noise went away.
