Line 6 FLOOR POD PLUS Vs Korg AX3000g

gt8 is extremely versatile and good sounding but make sure your a guy that likes to tweak. i used it for a while but sold it off, too much tweaking to get a tone i like.

i own a podxt before. i think the interface is roughly the same.the pod records really easy and i think their cab simulation is quite good. i haven tried the ax3000g yet so i cant give u comments.

but the tips i would give when choosing a multi effects are:

1) would you be playing through amp? headphones?
2) are you a person who has the patience to tweak and turn knobs?
3) do note that, the tone of the patch you programmed at home will sound very different when you bring it out to jammin. it will probably be best to program the patch in the studio at the volume you are playin. the volume affects the eq.

these are some i can think of right now. i hope it helps.

im currently using a zoom g2.1. its for my headphone and home practicing playing. very fun to play with. cheap and runs off batteries too. pretty good sounding and can get a good tone pretty easily. has a drum machine to practice with. its good for my usage...

we'll wait for others to chime in and assist you.. meanwhile mayb read some forums and learn as much as you can. i learnt most through forums. go try as much as you can..

thanks.

Yes subversion I would like to own GT8...but the price is to steep :( and
I heard of too much tweaking involved.I am not a pro..........yet hehe

stars_jy-Wow! what a great help.I will take your points in considerationThanks.

Btw the difference between this two is about $98 according to City Music.
With Pod Plus more expensive.

Recently I am curious of Line 6 because DAVE MUSTAINE (one of my guitar hero) had change his rack to Line 6.

Hoping more feedback from others....

try the zoom g2.1u if u havent considered it.. :D
its a good bargain man..
cheap price and the effects do well for me at least..

Thanks Godspeed64............but can I get sound as close as DS-1 or MT-2?

I play classic hardrock to some metal stuff.

Hmmm.......actually i wld recommend yet another Line 6 multi-efx: the PodXT Live. I feel that while the Floor Pod Plus does the multi-efx job very well, it still doesn't offer the full package. I'd prefer this over the Plus. Another option wld be the Vox ToneLab LE(newer) or ToneLab SE(older by a year) I've tried the SE and i can seriously tell u, it gives the GT-8 and XT Live a run for their money. The only minus abt the SE its that it is MONSTER! If ur gonna be carrying it around often, i'd say get a more compact multi-efx like the Zoom G2.1. If ur gonna occasionally jam and gig but want a full rig, the XT Live or the ToneLab(whichever version). Jus my 2 cents.

to me its BOss ME-50....it simulate stompbox sound....no amp, speakers or preamp simulation....good for playing live using any amp given to you....for recording purpose im not sure...ive use GT-6,GT-8 and podxt.....they are good but i dont use their cabs,preamp,speakers..etc simulation.....and it wont sound good if you plug in directly to the input...have to use fx loop or return slot...the distortions are quite good and powerful too...from metal zone to ds1 and overdrive tone....you can get it...i use that to play thrashmetal and some LOG stuff

with any mulit-FX units, reasonable tweaking is expected. many of the no-frills players who wish for such an offering but frowns upon too much time spent trying to dial up a reasonable tone, are better off with pedals.

the Floor POD could have been better with a Midrange control.
