James:

I understand that you do not want Levan to post here anymore. While I do not agree with your intentions, I will have to respect them as a member of this community.

I do hope, however, that you allow me to link to his final response in an attempt to provide some closure over the whole issue that has been going on for months now.

My fellow SOFTies:

If you have taken the effort to post your thoughts and opinions in the other threads, then I do think it's important that you take the effort to sit down and properly read the response as well.

http://heytherehowareyou.blogspot.com/

I would like to hear your responses to this, and hopefully we can all be mature and civil about this.

without much cheers this time,
Visa

visa, I hope you understand that once a person is banned, he is not supposed to create another account to post on SOFT.

Just a small request to you, Visa, if you could, please ask him to get over this issue and move on. He is capable of bigger and better things. It will be good for everyone.

with all due respect, James, if you take the trouble to read the response you'll know that he neither intends to create another account nor have anything to do with the local community anymore.

The bigger and better things he did intend for, I believe, were to help the scene get bigger and better.

And again, not to be confrontational, but no one person can truly say what "will be good for everyone". That's up to each and every individual to decide for himself.

haha, its so funny how James responds to Visa by just saying 3 words whilst Visa's post was quite a paragraph! :D

i take no sides, but from what i can gather, james is just doing his job; if a person breaks a rule, he should bear the consequences, and these consequences have been layed out clearly under the "Forum Rules" section.

so if a person is banned i.e- in a country/ web forum/ place...

OR if smoking is banned (another example)

shouldnt we not "see" or "smell" or even mention a "cigarette"?

peace! :D

My answer is straight to the point because I agree with what, i hope is visa, said.

tr00ly the sound of friends together.........hahaha

anyways i was going to make that comment abt bro AY's threads on Spore Si Bei Rock N Roll getting only 2000+ views at most whilst the Astroninja thread disappearing one racked up 11K plus, but Levan beat me to it hehehe.

just goes to show we just luv the bad news much much more..........

seriously go download the nice free stuff in those threads and also stop posting abt local music lacking in quality etc etc blah blah blah blah.......free is fun free is nice!!!

Both James and Levan are trying their best to help out in the local music scene.

I personally feel we should give them our support. ( IM NOT JUSTIFYING ANYBODY'S ACTIONS HERE )

My point is, ultimately whatever has happened, whatever has been said and done, no one can do anything about it.

Great musicians attempting to put singapore on the world map in the music scene is no simple task, and both are doing so in their own ways.

However great musicians do not have to be the perfect social figures. It is entirely up to the individual to choose who to be as his/her role model. Why use these two?

Just take a look at the USA, for metallica fans all of you would know the conflict between Dave musty and kirky. Or other musicians for that matter. Most would have someone they dont like or have a fued with.

Point is they still make great music or aid the music movement in some way or another.

Just forgive whatever you deem as a mistake and move on.

Instead of spamming/wasting bandwith hurling insults here and there, why not take a look at the bigger picture and what can be learned from what has alrdy happened.

Give them our support guys :)

hi everyone,

can i kindly request for locking of topics?

Lately i feel very irritated when i come to soft, esp on the frontpage. Why?
Instead of people discussing what's the new release on NAMM 2009 etc, people are just busy with something that is so not musical. I feel that even though there are not many threads regarding this sort of issue but 1 or 2 really creates an eyesore. Maybe it applies to people like me. Isn't it better to discuss/argue/debate it off the music forum? Or is soft slowly transforming itself into a debating/attention seeking technique forum?

and it's not just on the forum, the attention seeking technique works so well that it is bugging me on msn, phone and when i'm meeting my clients etc etc. It's just not so nice to me. I rather they come and say "hey you saw the latest Ibanez something something?"

debating without and official judge or juries and on no deadline for a specific answer will lead to nowhere. since this is the final response, i don't see why it's not locked.

can we get back to the music?
thanks.

agrees with Gr3y.
tried to loose some tension in the other thread by bringing some football topic into it randomly...but eventually it went back to square one.

it's true tat 'if u dun like it, dun do it; if u dun like the topic, dun look at it';
but some ppl keep bringing up the same issues over n over again, making the forum so not fun anymore...it's been like an internet warzone here lately...

anyway, off to liverpool thread now...
will try my best not to be bothered by these kinda stuff anymore...

peace.

i think it would be alright if we could restrict the discussion to one fixed thread, right now there are about 3-4 threads about the same thing.

Ok, will close this thread now. Hope no one is going to complain that there's no 'freedom of speech' here.

Anyone who is banned should not create new account to post in the forum.

The Astroninja thread was created by Levan who repeatedly create multiple accounts to post. This is the reason why it was removed.

The removal happened before his LiveNLoaded show at *scape.

Honestly, I am angry not so much for myself but the repercussion that might come because of his 'performance'. There were some officials there who could clamp down on the whole 'live local music' thingy because of what they saw.
