like stated above, where to find a Les Paul sounding guitar underr 400 . Any brand will be good, I can change the pickups and all but all in all what's the best Les Paul sound I can get for such a budget?

hmmm, epiphone lespaul special II?
you can get them for sweelee..

or save some bit more and get a 2nd hand lespaul of other better lp models.

i've tried them at standard value. they really feel solid and heavy. they play well too. feels good in my hands.

imo better than epiphone. epiphone's stock pickups are really muddy.

go try them out. test both guitars see which one u prefer. which one feels better to you. we can give u recommendations but its u who will decide which guitar ultimately.

haven't really tried the epiphones and the rallys on the same amp so i can't give an accurate answer but as dudelove mentioned, go try them out. it should feel good in ur hands. though as a personal preference, i'd pick the rally and change their pickups then they'll be similar in price to the epiphones but nicer sounding (i think :D)

i wouldn't recommend the epiphone lp special II. for that price, you can get something a lot better(unless you buy it secondhand). and do note that changing pickups will not improve your sound if you have a lousy amp.

hmmm...the micro roland cube is not too bad as a starting amp in the bedroom. there should be a review somewhere in this forum but i'm too lazy to dig it out :p
then again, u didnt give much info in ur starting post so cant really help u on this one =/

I am looking for a les paul copy too... A guitar with full mahogany and below 400.... and look exactly like a les paul and not the rally guitars...

waaa seriously quite hard to choose:
I saw the craftsmen, like quite good also leh
so
Craftsmen vs Rally
which is better?

make an effort - go down and try both. if u're planning to get a good guitar, going down to the shop to try which guitar is better to you for yourself. you will ultimately be the judge for which guitar u're buying. take ur time and dont make a hasty decision just because of what other ppl's perception of the guitar is.

thank you for the advice. where got both guitars? or closeby to each other?

unfortunately. no they arent close each other at all... hhahaha

craftsmen at city music, peace centre at dhoby ghaut

rally and standard value, woodlands, like super near the causeway.

i've tried both before and in my opinion, i prefer rally, because they feel heavier and thicker and sound 'fuller' but thats just my opinion.
