Les paul sounding guitar <$400?

I will go for the Rally guitars. Just love it. ;)

Depends on which Rally LP you get. GL 300 is like a Les Paul Standard while GL 400 is like a Les Paul Custom. Both are the same except for the bindings and hardware. the GL 400 come with gold hardware and the GL 300 in chrome hardware. The GL 300 has a beautiful flamed maple top body while the GL 400 have solid colour body. Currently, the GL 400 are left with black colour. White are sold out. For more information, you can visit Standard Value's website here

Try it out :)

Do note that the flames on the GL 300 are real, not those cheap photo finished type. Mike unwrapped a few for me to see and each are unique. ;)

not all photo-tops are cheap. it's relative cost savings for the manufacturer as oppossed to using a real maple cap. it would be a futile addition if it serves to induce visual cosmetics. a maple cap having a marked contribution in tone need to be at least a quarter inch thick at the centre (guitar) body portion.

Woops I must have bought the last white Gl-400 then. Anyway, I compared my friend's epiphone lp custom, and I must say, mine felt heavier and the buzzing sound is less when I'm not putting my palms on the strings compared to my friend's epi. Amp, amp settings and jack used were exactly the same btw.

But kinda regretted cause I didn't have enough time to try out all the guitars. Luckily though the first one I tried was good for me..

So yeah do try out some first even though the models are the same.

travelled cross half of singapore today to try the rally GI 400 and it was really worth it. ha

looks: like ESP lps with the wide headstocks. body's smaller than the epi lps and has really nice gold hardware. Make is definitely of superior quality to the epiphone

sound: AWESOME. really clear and would cut through much better than the stock epiphone les pauls.

for 399, it'd definitely be next on my list! ha

plus, mike gives no.1 customer service. bothered to go through his guitars and pedals in detail.
