I suggest that you charge a fee, cos no one will take freebies seriously.

And for those "bands" who wasted your time the first time round, put them in your black list.

Yea man...someday i WILL charge a fee....but at this point...im doing it for purely 2 reasons....passion...and gaining experience....

but you (and someone else) bring up a valid point....about the freebies thing.....thats prolly where i shot myself in the foot.....

then we come to the point....that if i charge the standard fee...im no different from all the other home producers...i lose my usp...and if i charge lesser...well tis a poor reflection of my skills....so i thot pro bono was the way to go...evidently not.....

oh and yea...blacklist has been created.....sad that noone on the whitelist

Think of all the time,the money and effort....etc. It is better to charge whatever you call push. Higher you could goes = the level of you have achieved. You earn more and can afford to play high end toys.

To the OP, first of all, I noticed that no one has said "thank you" to you for your kind offer of recording them. You deserve thanks because the scene needs committed producers and recording engineers with the same drive and passion as the rockers and musicians.

Keep working at your craft and don't let this experience stop you. As advised by many others, hunt down the committed bands - they are out there, trust me. I've had the good fortune of working with some committed professionals - both musicians and recording engineers. When we get together, ideas flow, things start to happen. It's magic and a great feeling.
