Learning Via Lessons Vs Learning Alone

Hi guys,i am new here so i was wondering what are the benefits of learning alone on the bass via internet tutorials and stuffs that you find

or going to bass lessons provided by yamaha or different bass teachers. I was wondering what is the difference.

and would it be better to self learn first before going to lessons to improve so least they can skip those stuffs that you can self learn?

i would advise to go for lessons first, at least u know where to start off. but u gotta get the right instructor to suit u.

the rest is all practice and jamming.
