It's still going to be a wait - October 08. That means it may be late 2008 or early 2009 before it gets into Singapore.
Info still sketchy. Super articulation 2nd generation - need to hear to judge. But no speakers and still 61 keys...very sad.
By the way, where did the person get the official info? Any other info elsewhere?

I'm sure it's gonna be in the buying list of diehard fans of arranger kybds.
Personally, I'm hoping Yamaha will have a price cut on the Tyros2 then

That's a poor update, really. I can't believe the blog writer doesn't know that Roland has showcased their latest GW-8 arranger workstation for a while now, and lately again during NAMM. It has sounds from their Sonic Cell Technology (which means piano sounds simply will overshadow Yamaha's), 4 pattern per style (including 4 intros and 4 endings), the D-beam, and the ability to import wav, mp3 and aiff with technology to remove vocals from sound track. If Yamaha doesn't do something new instead of just adding a few new features to their existing Tyros, they will start to lose out in the arranger keyboard section. And that will be bad for them...
Dude Wake up the sounds in GW- 8 sound like casio .. seen it in flesh. i regret comparing that to a tyros.

Where did you try the GW-8? Did you hear the sounds through proper monitor speakers or through amps or through headphones? I'm surprised that you said the sound is like "Casio" (whatever that may mean). GW-8 derives its sounds from the Fantom-X.
The sound from Tyros isn't too bad. Sound preference is a very personal thing. However most would agree that Yamaha piano sound has problems in the higher registers since eon past. The Tyros, being an arranger keyboard and therefore having to squeeze lots of sounds into a limited memory space, will not improve on that further. But yes, their SA sound palette from the Tyros 2 is very good. But since the Tyros 3 only have 5 SA2 sounds (as your link provides), it makes me wonder how much it's an improvement from the predecessor Tyros 2.
Nevertheless, I'm sure Tyros enthusiasts will go for it. If you read my previous posts from elsewhere, you'll know I vouch for Yamaha to be the best in arranger keyboard category. The function and arranger keyboard-wise ergonomics is still unmatched. The problem is that Yamaha has not been coming up with newer and groundbreaking technology for their arranger keyboards. The development of Tyros 3 has some issues that's niggling over in Tyros 2. Roland has never been a contender for arranger keyboards. All their previous arranger keyboards are pretty junk (except their GW-7). But their developments in this category showed they have done their homework and is trying to overtake the market in the arranger keyboards section.
