Set in the magnificent and rustic Stewords Riverboat, get ready for an electrifying evening as the Laid Comers proudly present GENESIS, an event that celebrates the launch of their much anticipated self-titled debut EP.
Raised on a diet of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Killers and Muse, the quintet are set to release their 4-track EP, mixed at Snakeweed Studios by Leonard Soosay (Caracal, Great Spy Experiment, Electrico, Inch Chua) and mastered at Horus Studios by Leonard Fong (Kit Chan, Stephanie Sun, Joi Chua, Tay Ke Wei).
The event will also feature Keith Soo-Tho, Mitch Advent and Brannlum.

WHO ARE THE LAID COMERS?
We are a 5-piece band comprising frontman Sean, drummer Kok, guitarist ShouWei, keyboardist Oribelle and bassist Almo.
Our songs can only be described as a mash whatever inspires us, blending rhythm and melody to thrash out some blues, funk, pop and rock. Our sound reflects our nature: fun-loving, sometimes unpredictable, but always a pleasure to have around.
Back in 2009, three friends (Sean, Kok & Almo) came together as fresh-faced musicians looking to explore the wonders of music, covering a diverse range of songs from the funky Red Hot Chili Peppers to the raw and energetic Nirvana to soulful, bluesy John Mayer. At that time, the NUS Kent Ridge Hall Rockers was our home as we took the chance to play with and learn from our peers.
Our journey into original music started with the decision to audition for Anaki Rocks Chinatown in 2011 and Anaki Rocks the City in 2012. This path took us to a whole new altitude in our musicianship as we dug deep to express ourselves through our own material. In 2015, ShouWei and Oribelle joined the fold, and their immense knowledge of music and endless creativity has undoubtedly elevated our sound to a whole new level.
Over the past 3 years, we have been recording and producing our first EP. Through this journey, we have put everything we loved about music – head-banging rhythm, hip-swaying groove and heart-wrenching melodies, into 20 minutes of soundwaves. With our self-titled debut EP ready to go, we look to take the nation by storm, one gig at a time.
