Hey guys, need some advice on Triton Le. Is it good for music-makin and doin gigs? Hopefully to get that at tthe end of the year.

I got an le. It´s great for the price. An all rounder, but suited for general works. Dance music etc needs some work. Plus side, it´s not bulky like an actual triton. Growing with this will probably suck because of the non weighted keys.

I don´t use the onboard sequencer since that´s really shite. I just use a computer sequencer. That´s a lot more flexible.

Buy the 2 din midi cables with a db connector at the end to connect to your joyport. The audio card must be able to have midi connections like most cards do nowadays.

i bought the cable already.. in and out midi cable... but my sound card only has joystick port.. which is i think midi in.. i plug in.. and use the sequencer software.. seems like it can´t detect. Must i switch the keyboard to any mode first ?

Need more info. What sound card are you using? What software sequencer are you using?

The connection has to be: Soundcard (midi out) to keyboard (midi in).

Audigy DE

hmm... sound card out to midi IN.. = the computer cannot detect what key i press on the keyboard ?

Sequencer = Anvil Studio

OK. Correction. It depends on where you want the sound to come from.

Keyboard out -> soundcard in will be necessary to record midi signals. This will be sufficient if you want sounds to come from your computer.

If you want the sound to come from your Triton LE, then of course you will need soundcard out -> keyboard in for the sequencer to drive the keyboard.

That is, you´ll need 2 midi cables, one from the keyboard to the soundcard to record midi, one from the soundcard to the keyboard to play it.

If you want serious sequencing, perhaps it is better to get a soundcard with midi in and out rather than a joystick port. I´m not sure if the Audigy DE gives you both in and out through the optional joystick midi port.

If it still fails, then you´ll need to check your settings in your sequencer. I´m not familiar with Anvil Studio. As a freeware, it does seem to be pretty good for starters. You may have to contact their technical support. Check your sequencers´s midi ports to see if you have midi ins and outs. If you only have midi in port, then your soundcard cannot drive an external sound source. Either change a soundcard or get a midi interface (the latter comes in serial/parallel or USB versions).

Yeah, you definitely need to check to see if you´d plugged everything in properly. My trition works fine, plus with a sblive 5.1 it worked correctly, so it´s probably just a user problem.

yea.. kind of give up already. I think my soundcard midi port is a out and not a in. Tried playing around, but still couldn't get the software to work with the keyboard

Ok man, you really need to try it out other's computer.... if you got a laptop lagi easier. It's only 3 things that could be kaput. Here's order of priority

1. cable
2. soundcard
3. LE itself

Try getting a new cable. But first check all connections and make sure in/out are done properly. Then check whether other soundcards can work. Use someone else's laptop or something. Then check if your computer can actually work with another keyboard. If yes, then it's repair time for your keyboard.

If you know your soundcard is a problem( check specs first on the web before making decision) just get an audigy 2zs; those confirm should work.
