Bro i can consider Cort guitars good but under-rated. A lot of people now look at brands. Sad to say. I'm not saying this because I own a Neil Zaza signature also from Cort. If you look at it's craftmanship and design, it's awesome. As what Cort says, "Designed by Musicians For Musicians!". Go for it man!!!;)

haha k, but... the price n sound is the prob.. i dun really noe how it sounds yet. for sound, pickup contributes a lot rite?

Why don't you try it out? :D

Ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bro, you beat me to this la......!!! I was just dying to see when someone would just say , to me, the obvious....!

Mr Threadstarter..... can you tell all of us what the heck is holding you back????

Ok ok.... lemme give you MCQ..... we all love MCQ style stuff right??... hahaha

1) You dun know who's the dealer in Singapore?
2) It's not available in Singapore?
3) You feel to shy to play in public?
4) You feel to paiseh to ask the shopkeeper to let you try?
5) So far you're using your TGM to bang and kill cockroaches so when given the Cort in your hands, playing it becomes a secondary intention?

What ?!?!?

I mean I'm sorry if I sound sarcastic and condescending . Not my intention but don't you guys notice that so many times we see this kind of thread of .." Does A sound better than B?" kind of thing right? And it always makes me wonder why ask in the first instance when you can hear it and decide whether you like it? After all, you're playing the guitar for your own enjoyment FIRST then to others ie your audience (which may not be guitarist in the first place) right ?

I ask such questions before also but only if it falls in these understandably valid categories..

1) Item not available in Singapore.
2) Item available but shop say cannot try
3) I have a rough idea of what i require but dont have ANYTHING in mind and there are a lot to choose from
4) I can try but because limited available time to try, I cannot discover it's full function or capability eg Multieffects or mixer
5) Shop owner so f#%kup attitude that you know if you ask to try more than one thing they think you no money to buy....
6) You're actually asking to compare reliability or ruggedness. (I mean you cant take the Cort and smash it to test for durability right?)

Sorry... just dont understand..I mean if it's a simple thing like a guitar, an amp or a pedal and all you need to know whether it sounds good? Then by all means exercise your consumer's right and try it la!

If the shopkeeper give attitude then just take that damn thing and smash the cockroach with it la! (In this case it will be the f'ng shopkeeper!)

But dun say I tell you to do that ha!!!! Ha ha!!!

I think this is just rude. Forums are meant for people to ask questions. Some people here ask in hopes of getting some info that maybe even the shopkeeper might not be well informed of. Things such as compatibility with pedals etc. Even the shopkeeper might not have tried the particular guitar with all pedals. Coincidentally people in this forum might have tried it before.

If you don't want to help, don't waste your time posting this sort of thing to put people off. And even if its true that they need to go down personally to test if it fits them or not, at least you could provide him with whatever info you can, if not, then don't bother him. Give him a break...

Hey.... I'm sorry man.... I told you already. I dont intend to offend anybody but I just find it a little strange that the threadstarter should ask something so open ended like that?

Can that same person who always reply ... "Are apples nice?" and "Are oranges delicious?"
Plssssssssssssssss come and save me now....

I think what you meant to say in your second para is actually "If you dont want to help, dont' waste OUR time posting this sort of thing...."
Interestingly, don't you think that by asking such non-specific open ended question, the TS (no offence now... we all learn) is actually wasting time? Both his and ours ? Not to mention bandwith. Think about it......

Look at this...

"Katana Cort sure looks good.. BUT does it sound great as while? Can somebody help me wif this? I looking for a better guitar. If it doest sound good, i mus as well stick wif my TGM strato wif Kent Armstrong Blade Pickups. I use Smashbox 7 as well. Tell me if its good or not. THX "

I mean seriously, it's not that I dun want to help. Go ahead, look at my other posts. You obviously dont know how helpful I can be. Distortioner.....go ahead and pm to tell ...

But how to help when we have no idea what he means by a better guitar??
- better sounding? better looking? more durable? more versatile? what?!

How do you define by not sounding good?
- what does the TS play?
- is it for practice or for gig?
- what?!

I mean I dun even know whether he has even tried to listen to it himself??
Do you even realise that if you're too lazy, bothered, shy to try for yourself , you can actually listen to sound clips of the guitar at say...YouTube? Have you tried that?

I'm beginning to realize why someone actually started the thread about how SOFT is deteriorating into a forum to just lay personal non-justifiable opinions sometimes not even backed with experience. Also a forum where everyone expects to be spoonfed.

Just look at the no. of post of asking "is this better than this" or "what you guys think of this?" without the TS even thinking or giving his thoughts on it or at least showing that he is helping himself first? I may be guilty of it once but this should not be the way this forum should work. It's a discussion forums. That means you share information. If all you ever want is to be spoonfed, then there are other websites to go to.

Harmony Central® - The #1 Online Community For Musicians

...in short you just google "guitar reviews" (like you can google just about everything nowadays) and you'll find what you're looking for....
but if you want people to respond to your questions SPECIFICALLY and expect to be taken seriously and be answered SPECIFICALLY, then you have to help us to help you and BE SPECIFIC.....

Dun worry bro.... not flaming you back or anything.... apologise to you if I sound "in yer face" kind of thing.... but I'm sincere as a person and I dont s#%t around... I help like a lot of people here do... but asking to be spoonfed is insulting to people like us...

I apologise if I sound rude....but I see that I got my point nicely thru to you cos you responded.....

Cheers and chill bro.....

Well.. I agree with Arsony.. The TS should at least respect the community and put effort into some research to phrase his question properly, and come here with some knowledge beforehand.. Rather than expect to be spoonfed..

But at the same time, he need not be so harsh.. I've felt this way many times, and burst in the same way before.. Now I feel embarrassed cause I met the fella at Soft soccer meetup a while back..

Next time, do research on your own first.. Try to make your questions as SPECIFIC as possible.. Countless of advice has been given in different threads, and would definitely apply to this one right now..
Like
"What matters is what you think about it"
"The amp is a more important tool to change then pickups, pedals, etc etc"
"A is better than B? Everything is your own personal opinion"

The list goes on.. Try to phrase your threads properly, so that fellow forumers can answer you precisely, and definitely not humiliate you.. And to fellow forumers, we all began guitar the same way - we sucked at first.. So, don't hinder others' growth, but help them.. If they keep asking the same damn questions, just leave it to someone else to echo the original words then!

K, really sry. my question wasnt clear.

We all learn bro! Btw.. Best thing to do is, listen online, read up on reviews..
Then find out Singapore's Cort dealers.. And head down or call them to check if they have one in stock..
At the same time, ask fellow Softies if they have/had it, the pros/cons of the guitar and whether you can try it.. Cort ain't that bad actually.. So never ever ever look at brand name!
And, if the guitar feels and sounds good, no matter where it came from, China or Indonesia and whatever people say about it; it doesnt matter..

No prob man.. It's always good to ask around.. But its better to come prepared..
Personally, the forum is a last resort, and when I need opinions from a local perspective..

K. Thx dude. Tat motivate me to look around furthur. I should'nt even start this thread..

No bro, it's okay to start this thread. But do a little bit of your own thing first.
"God helps those who help themselves..." . We're no GuitarGods but our brains are not connected to your ears. You can ask as about guitar type of sound, reliability, mod-ability, gig-ability or suitability for certain pedals but it becomes almost impossible to tell you whether you are going to like the sound or not when it's your ears which is gonna do the job ultimately. I apologise. I dont mean to be harsh.

I see too many Singaporeans these days especially the youths who are too pampered, over-protected and sheltered. While this can be seen to be a fortunate situation, it does not help in the long run as many would not survive to be street smart. Most become over reliant on the system to just spoonfeed and shove things down their throat. That is exactly the reason why our small and medium sized entrepeneurs hardly survive outside Singapore as they are subjected to different cultures, surroundings and systems which does not serve them the way they want it to....

Okay enough ramblings. Now Cort Cort...... okay. This one right?

Cort KX1 Katana: Harmony Central User Reviews

Went to Indonesia about 2 months back and I think some model of Corts are made in Indonesia. I don't remember ever seeing the Katana (both KX1 and KX1Q or KX custom) there, but I do remember it's slightly cheaper to get in Indonesia. I got hold of one , I think it was the M series in beautiful white and played with it. Feels very much like a PRS. Can't really play fast on the neck (or maybe I just suck la!) . Twin humbuckers give a nice warm clean tone with decent sustain. Otherwise nothing too fantastic. For the price you pay, I think it's definitely worth it. Looks good too.

There's 2 for sale on ebay.

Why dun you compare prices and if the ones in Indonesia is cheaper, then lemme know. I'm going again probably in June. Can buy one for you.... Just PM me the details ...

Cheers and good luck!

All's good, could check up youtube for some video reviews, gives a better impression of the sound, but sometimes recordings don't do justice. Good luck in your search.
