Oh come on. Seriously.

As I said before and I'm going to say it again.

Its their marketing ploy!!

So what!!!

I'm sure ur a damn generous guy who likes to share ur frustrating experiences but keep it to a certain level of sanity dude..

As much as I prefer Sabians to other brands, doesn't mean that I'm going to make the WORLD WIDE WEB know about the whole bad stuffs abt other cymbal brands. Its individual choices!

I suggest that U drop an email to Ahead website and tell them about wat U think abt them. Its much better that way..

Cheers!!

There are various cymbal companies and they are bring out equally professionally-made cymbals, there isn't much to compare. It all boils down to individual preference, true.

But for Ahead sticks, it's like a cymbal company coming up with plastic cymbals, something has to be said, it's unconventional for sure, but it doesn't translate to "good".

And no, I don't see myself being "generous" in any aspect for sharing my (IMO, a fair) opinion on this range of products, afterall, this is a place for discussion. I also do not see myself exceeding a certain level of "sanity" just for providing reasons why Ahead sticks are severely detrimental to drummers.

Yes, you're right, Tommy Lee, Jordison, Barker, they are all endorsees that are very likely to be satisfied with Ahead products. But try playing the Rosanna shuffle groove with the dynamics and feel like how Jeff Porcaro did, WITH Ahead sticks. Impossible I tell you.

Do not get the wrong idea, shred5, I'm not imposing my dissatisfaction with Ahead sticks on others, I merely stated why drummers, in general, should not purchase or use Ahead sticks. Live with it, stop over-reacting.

I truly understand ur dissatisfaction towards Ahead..

No one can change that. Not even God!! :?

And I'm not over-reacting over ur feelings. Its just blown out of proportion by the way u describe all the cons abt the sticks...

Cheers!! I'm living life everyday as it comes..

On a side note..., Travis Barker uses Ahead? :?

Sorry, my bad, Travis Barker uses Zildjian sticks.

Anyway shred5, maybe I was too harsh in terms of discouraging the use of Aheads, but anyway, peace out, bro. Most people would go insane on me and start flaming me, but I respect you for keeping the replies diplomatic. Cheers.

lol its funny how an argument can form from just a simple qn of where to find jj series sticks. but yah, both of u are potential debaters. lol. peace out.

No probs. Glad to be contributing some input into the "discussion" that we had. Be it positive or negative. :) ..

Anyway, both of us are not using Ahead sticks. I'm using either Zildjian Anti-Vibe 5B or Vater's Smitty's Signature Model. Wats abt U?

Vic Firth 5As for standard drum playing, I mix it up with a little of Vic Firth 7AN for lighter stuff. As for chops training on the pad, it's Vic Firth SD1 (Jr. version, for my tiny hands).

Not some Vic Firth whore, but I just happen to keep getting VF sticks for some reason.

I'm still lookin for Vic Firth Vinnie Paul signature series btu too bad, Swee lee don't have it..

I got mine 6 years ago, but I lost one half of it..

That's when I found revelation in Vater!!!

But when I found another revelation in Anti-Vibe, it opens another new chapter...

I've been wanting to get myself some Vaters actually.

As for the anti-vibe, those are the Zildjians with the rubber grip eh? I've got sweaty palms, and the rubber grip simply makes it sticky and grimey.

haha.... i think the rubber grips are the DIPS. the anti vibes external texture are like any other normal ziljian hickory you can find. the diff is they hollowed the bottom internal section of the stick and filled it with some rubber like thingy, or close to that, so that whn you hit the sticks, it will absorb the vibrations at the end of the sticks.

expensive stuff, who wanna use it?

i have that anti vibe stick too...5A....but after using it for a few weeks..i grew tired of it...i wasn't satisfied with the tip at all..it's too long..and the wood seems to be a little dry..it doesn't give me the kind of response that i want when i hit a cymbal..
now i use Vic Firth dave weckls..i love them alot.. =D the evolution and the previous one i forgot the name..haha

~drummar buah~

I'm a hard hitter when I play. The Anti-vibes does help me a lot bcos of the "specialised" feature and it really works..

Btw, I'm not doing any promo for Yamaha and Zildjian eh, its based on experience.

Even though the stick is costly at $25, it definitely helps to reduce hand stress especially if u were to drum for long period of time..

For practicising or jamming, I'm using the Anti-Vibe but for gigging, I'm using Vater.. The xtra weight really helps to boost the power of ur hits..

i like Vic Firth Nylon Heads. i'm using TB Signature, heavy man, haha. it sounds nice on the ride. :D

my friend had the anti-vibe before! i think he got it for 30 odd bucks. but i liked them! probably because they were really "bouncy". rebounded really smoothly and i enjoyed doing fills with them. but still, normal sticks are satisfactory for me. and the dip sticks gives me unnecessary grip. >.< leaves me with blisters sometimes. not sure whether its my holding method but ya. =D

breath-taking arguments.

anyway, i've got two pairs of zildjian's anti-vibe stick. 5B and 7A. i feel that the sticks are not bad. but in the end, i end up using pro-mark ringo starr. hahaha. great sticks they have. so far all the sticks i got, zildjian are the weakest. but nevertheless, i love zildjian's stuff.

:D
