Was watching rockstar supernova, some girl called Patrice Pike covered "eternal life", at that moment, even though the girl did a crappy cover, I had a gut feeling this is a genius of song, and when I watched the real stuff, well quite simply, I was blown away. Few weeks later, I return to check out on this guy more, I saw "grace", and a listen, and had to admit it was pretty wierd stuff at first listen, didnt know why I returned listen to it again. The more I listen to it, the more it grew onto it, and after that that was it, grace(the album) became my constant soundtrack for possibly the rest of my entire life.

For those who missed out on him or just know him because of "Hallelujah", you should check out on him more. Once he grew into you that is it, you are spellbound forever. A lot of you listen to Muse, Radiohead, do you know that Thom Yorke, Matthew Bellamy and Steve Vai were inspired by him.

Sad to say, he was taken at the age of 31, I shed a few tears whenever I think of him while listening to "hallelujah". Seems like God wanted is jealous and wants to take away talents that are too good. (Kurt Cobain, Lennon, Joplin) If there is a god, he must be an angry one, and I hate him.

Hi glad to see that Buckley is getting some love around here.

Honestly a lot of high-pitched falsetto-ed singers like thom yorke and bellamy cant even touch jeff buckley.

I dont know much about singing, but doing some research on vocal techniques and such, some of the stuff that Jeff could do involved really difficult techniques. Even so, those of us who can't appreciate the more technical aspects of his singing, will surely be touched by the sheer amount of soul in his music. Lilac wine is certainly one of the best covers ever recorded.

Hope to hear from more buckley fans out there!

I agree, nowadays nobody sings like Jeff, his range is incredible, he can do mellow songs to heavy metal and it would be equally incredible. Everything he does seems to have his own touch even covers, cant find that much nowadays. If you notice his performance, he could do 1000 shows with grace, and each show there would be a different version of grace, absolutely scary. Btw if you are into his vocal and falsetto, try Tim Buckley, his dad, i tell you his range is out of this world man and he sings like a black man, although the song is hard to find, I recommend you listen to sweet surrender, seriously underr-rated artist, like a miles Davis in his own time, hope he R.I.P alongside with Jeff.

I do like Rufus Wainwright, but not as the same wavelength as Jeff. I like his "Hallelujah" but I like Jeff's one even more, shall not go into debate into this already very intense Wainwright-Buckley-who-is-better on youtube.

Oh well, doesnt it seems a little concidential that artist that are too good die early? If there is a god, who else to blame but him, or her for that matter?

I am huge buckley fan and his talent of making covers to sound like his own in his own style is amazing.Do check out his other album my sweetheart the drunk and this song called satisfied mind which was cover found in the album. He was heavily influenced by asian artist like Nusfrat Fateh Ali Khan which can be found in the song electric chair if i am not wrong.

His father Tim Buckley is a genius aswell.

His song "satisfied mind" can be found in his early album Song to No one as well(His early collboration with Gary Lucas). The song is called "Yeh Jo Halka Saroor Hae" and can be found in his album Live in Sin-E. Btw satisfied mind is played as the last song in his funeral, one can only think how sad it must be.

hell yeah..... !!!!!! wish he is still alive! one of the greatest singer/song writer/guitarist and super under rated. love all his works. yeap should check out his daddy as well. i guess it runs in the family.... my personal fav from jeff would be last goodbye..... man... that song means a lot to me...... a classic from his creation in open g tunning. R.I.P jeff....
