Apologies! I had actually wanted to attend all the sessions but it's either I was down with stomach flu, busy with band rehearsals, or something else.

I will try to make it for the Feb 17 and 24 one at the very least!

Hi killerbee, didn't see you at either session, but you might be pleased to know that everyone will be having their own snare drum to bang on at the upcoming Jazz Series 6. Lemme know if you're still up for it. Thanks, Juliana

I sometimes go to Jazz @ southbridge and I am always amazed by tan boon gee.

very humble attitude yet such a powerful drummer with a versatile style!

I highly recommend to those of you who have not yet listened to him to pay a visit to the club!

I was not a great jazz enthusiast before and I didnt give much credit to drummers (which I thought were more or less a metronome in a band) but Boon is really different!!!

really: just go to the club and listen to one of his drums solos... :)

Sorry Juliana! Too many commitments! Feb was too tied up with paintball stuff. But I know it's no excuse! I've been missing out on so many sessions. :(

Session 6 is a on! I'll go down on Friday afternoon to get the ticket. :)

Boo Gee is one of the bet drummers I have ever worked with - for all genres ...

If you only go for ONE clinic this year - make it it his.... worf it I tell U

Yay! Finally went for the session today. Quite a good workshop where Boon Gee shared the concept and building blocks of comping. Very interesting and I had fun!

Would love to attend the rest but alas, I have paintball training so I won't be able to make it.

But if anyone is free to check it out, please do! :)

PS: There's a very nicely tuned kit in the drum room located at the attic at Anaki! Small kit but huge sound!

Guest bassist Eddie Jansen at Jazz Series Session 8

The finale of the Jazz Series will see guest bassist Eddie Jansen and Tan Boon Gee performing the various permutations of jazz as well as its cross-overs with other music genres such as rock, Latin American styles as well as the advent of the electric era. Do swing by and check it out.
