If you can find one the Tokai Strat copies are really good ones to get your hands on! :)

Nice LP you got there.

sorry for the noob question but what does a lawsuit guitar means? alot of people snatching for it and they go to court for the guitar?

or various companies sueing each other off because who copied whose model?

*shrugs.

anyway, that's really a very nice LP with very warm colour. can't imagine i have that. OMG!

guitarbleve: Did you compare your Greco LP with Gibson's and Epiphone's?

ya i did..

its definately better then epiphone's les paul, and in my opinion, its better or similiar to the gibson's les paul..

one thing great about this guitar is that my fingers managed to adapt to the neck easily (got small hands)

oh yeah... nice guitar.

i think it will still take some time to convince people that these copies are compatible to the original.

But guitarbleve, you are fortunate you got a good piece. I have tried some of these copies and they can still turn out to be crappy. coz most of them are old and vintage, so along the way, things happen to them and the owner changes certain parts and hence change its quality. but nonetheless... :) it will still likely ROCK!!

enjoy your toy!

if i could, i sooo wanna get an ESP MX250II from Japan, thats one of my dream guitar  . Stupid gibson and their lawsuits :(

Hehe, I think guitarbleve's one of the few people here to own a Jap lawsuit guitar... So adventurous and daring... Too bad my family was not music-oriented, otherwise will have one as a 'family treasure'...

Turtlemuscle: It's impossible to convince people that these copies are compatible to the original... Some people even call them "pirated". Oh wells...

just like how you have your grand ideas about those research you made about jap guitars, others have their whacked ideas of those. It's a fair and square deal

Guitar collectors in singapore, collect guitars.. at the age of 30s and above, they don't come into forum and talk about how good the guitar is or that lawsuit guitar is the best.......

peace

jumbofret: ha! you are right. it's very hard. coz i think the market here not that mature yet. and singaporeans (myself included) we are less of a risk taker. i feel. (patriots, please don't stone me...). i only dare to try. :p

take davies as an example. it's quite clear cut that the Tokais hanging there are much better than epi and some gibson (not all lah, but jumbofret i know you will disagree with me :) ), but i read somewhere in this forum that davies is no longer bringing more because it's not selling?

brundisium:

you really have a point there about the guitar collectors. and i think somehow it will slightly disadvantage younger generations like us within this forum.

to off set this, we really have to dare to try (don't let the saleman's stare stop you!) and be objective. have to shift out of the "branding" paradigm and be honest with ourselves what we really like and want. this way we don't have to care about whether Gibson is better or lawsuits are better. you know you bought something you like.

well, whoever reads this and finally thinks that there is no harm trying, this is where you will find lawsuits (from the last I saw):

Tokai: Davies, Guitar Connection
Burny: Yamaha, sometimes Luther?, orangeguitar.com
Orville: orangeguitar.com
Greco: Guitar connection, orangeguitar.com

not against originals, but pro lawsuit :)
