Jap Fender '62 Reissue Strat (sss)

i know you.......you're from sp final year ICT right........

really nice equipment for a beginner....the strat is one of the most versatile instruments in the guitar field......it's quite suitable for hard rock and blues.....considering it's a reissue strat all the more reason it will suit blues.....but tone is something very subjective and it varies from people to people......few people use very distorted or powered tones to play blues except for maybe a couple like steve vai and friends......

the strat is also quite suitable for punk rock....

considering you have a line 6 you can get almost any sound you want......

oh yeah! i am from brighton and caesar is my electric guitarist partner.

Hmm..yeah yeah..from SP ict final year. Who are you flash tay!!

Hmm, oh well, den i think i'll keep my fender reissue solely for blues then, dun think it will go well with the rock stuff i play in church.

NOt punchy and fat enough, looks like abit wasted buy, cox can only use it at home, unless my church gonna play some blues stuff.

Wah poor strat.
If it's good enough for Iron maiden for rock, why isn't it good for you?

Erm strat isn't really just for blues in the first place. There's Hank Marvin and alot of rock and roll guitarist who uses the strat as their main axe. Personally, I'll dump the Line 6 POD and get a good clean tube amp. Add a decent OD and I think you'll think its anything but blues. Not enough meat? Add another fuzz or OD and you'll get what I mean.

A guitarist you can probably draw references to is John Mayer. Sure he's SRV influenced. But his music is anything but blues.

Worst case scenario if nothing works out, swap the bridge pups for a mini humbucker.

Seriously man, keep ur mind open to what you think your strat can do

it's got a really good edge for lead guitar in a rock band, it stands out against the rhythm guitar for solos that cut through the mix

if you use whatever settings u used on an RG - obviously it will not sound punchy and fat enough - the pickups are low output relative to the humbuckers on the RG.

try resetting your setup - pedals, amp etc.

considering he plays regularly at the church, i think getting a tube amp for home use is not really a viable option IMO

if you're at the mercy of the amps provided, i'd say get an amp modeller or something, but im sure you can dial in some nice tones from your Pod XT, single coil or not.

as a last resort, if u really love the feel of that strat....go ahead and swap out some stack humbuckers in the bridge position to handle your hard rock needs.

As for me, i'm unpacking the 62RI which just arrived this morning at my doorstep. Advice is, stick to your playing style and use both guitars for a few months more....perhaps it will grow onto you :)

actually it sounds very cool with the start played with christian music. u noe planetshakers i went for their concert, the singer used a fender SSS strat too. so it doesnt matter, brings out the twang, quite cool when overdriven hehe

Darn edo.. Tempt me.. Must now give in to GAS.... Haha.

How much did you get it for? I'm assuming you get from Ishibashi?

well... u can consider how malmsteen used his guitar?
honestly... the problem u are facing now... is the same one i faced before sometime back.... u probably didnt research enough...

Me thinks he was mostly swayed by what he heard when Beez was playing that strat. Which goes to remind us that a good player can make almost any guitar sound good in any music style.

hmm..i love the neck feel, but i dun like the sound tat comes out from it, dunno issit becox its texas pickups, hmm, if i am thinking of letting go of my 62 reissue, any takers? sms me 98362463(joseph)

you can change electronics but you can't change the feel of a guitar. think twice if that is the case - you hate electronics but love the feel.

take some time man. bring it to beez - ask him how to get the guitar to rock. try to demonstrate what kind of a rock sound you want with your RG etc and see how he can help you. PM edo83 about his 62RI as well - i'm sure he can get a good rock sound with his setup.

Sorry hijack a bit.
