JAMMING - HOW MUCH?

Urm 30 bucks a session. Divided by 4 peeps. Each about 7.50 a person?

2 - 3 sessions in one month.

Btw vox normally don't need pay one. Lol do you all make your vox pay?

wah....vox no need to pay? :smt017 how come ah? i've been paying leh...gimme a valid reason leh...can tell my band...lol...escape payment..

it's normally down to $7.50 per person. for a 5 piece band..
per month? hmm...it depends..
for us..whenever we're gonna have a gig, and we're not feeling quite right bout how we play..jamming can take up to 3 days per week. :smt107

form a ska band or something.
many people, so each will pay less or something haha!

i pay $20 per session 1.5hrs, once a week!

5 guys in the band, therefore $4 a session or $16 a month. quite cheap la.
luckily i have a bus pass, if not, travelling will be as expensive as jamming itself..

LOL
you got me thinkin..if SLIPKNOT was from singapore..
each of em jst need to fork out $4 each.

but then again...

lol...jst a thought man...

haha. shouldn't it depend on how many times a month you jam?

i usually pay 10bucks. and i'm the vox. how come your vox so special no need to pay one? i always pay leh.

nyeargh.

hahaha

why are u so good to ur vox  hehe, is it cause he doesnt use the instruments? well he uses the mic rite :D

Which studios do you guys jam at those price rates you all specified?

Me and my jamming friends are still looking for a cheap and decent place to jam in or near city area...

If I start a studio and charge $10/- an hour, would there be customers for me?

If I start a gig hall with sitting space about a badminton court, fully equip and I charge $1000/- per 3 hours excluding sound check, any customers?

10 bucks?
y not, but then location and instruments play a part too. need to get dat right mix of equipments in order not to lose much money for charging 10 bucksh
heh

The $10/per hour studio thingy would definately bring in some customers esp during the weekends I guess. Though it may also depends on size of room, the type of equipments used and also the ease of accessibilty of reachin the place plays a big part as well. Not forgettin the service provided by the person who runs the place.

As for the gig hall thingy, I guess $1k for 3 hrs is kinda steep as some other venues charge ard that price but with much longer hours. But I'm pretty sure if u made it cheaper and approacheable, I'm pretty sure u will have regular customers who DIY their own gigs, eg the "core" folks at lioncitydiy.com

it is a cool idea but how many of such gigs can there be each month? the calculation would be the same as Singapore Expo or Suntec Convention Centre. Venue.

What adventage does this have than say, a ready pub?

We should have a mega mall with instruments showroom, cds, dvds, jam studio, lesson studio, recording studio, performance hall and of course, Internet access to SOFT.

hmm. the 10 bux / hr rates is gonna give mikemann a lil competition.

  Haha......I've been doing 10bucks an hour for almost 2yrs now. You tink me worried???

Dun forget I still have a tiny studio which I've being charging 8bucks an hour for just as long.

If anyone wanna wack at my price, I'd say, go ahead buddy. I've already done my maths, at 10bucks, I can safely say you cannot make enough to cover both the monthly rent and left anything for your own pay. Not to mention, maintainence and repalcement of broken equipment.

Fair price for studio is $15/hr. If you consider Karoke are already charging $10/hr, the room is like 1/3 the size of jam studio, the equipment is also 1/3 of jam studio. So Jam studios should be charging at $25-30 per hour to be on par. Consider that.

All I can say is that, I have my ways, others have theirs.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the gig hall comes with instruments & equipment. How's that?

Err.....$1K is OK price if the sound system and lightings are up to standard. As for the duration, I think 6hrs should be more in line. Again you must at least have 2 techs around, will that be included in the cost. You need your own guy to take care of your own stuff. not to mention cleaning crews for after event.

The DIY scene locally sees local organisers getting really creative to do an event at shoestring budget. Small ballroom or event hall can go for as cheap as $300 or even less. Equipments wise they pool they own stuffs as much as possible, then rent whatever is missing, eg. sound...

ha ha ha... typical happenings. buyer will always say expensive and seller always say cheap. Still no sure if this can take place, but still trying. Let's see if other softies would help me look at things a little clearer.
