Hi guys,

I've been to the X jamming studio once with my band. Imo the service there is excellent. What happened was the default double pedal (Carlos brand i think) was quite loose are the foot plate area, which I felt super uncomfortable after playin the 1st song. So I took my chance and ask if I can have a replacement pedal instead. To my surprise, the lady and guy was more than willing to change it for me! I was really grateful and thus had a happy jamming night. :-D

Whats more, my band mates feedback that I didnt sound very loud after whacking the hell out of my life. So I guess its a good place for hard hitters in a way.

The only downside is the air con though. Almost couldnt breathe after a few songs.. lol

I dropped by with some frens for an informal jamming session, and was pretty impressed at what I saw. For those who love big kits, they have one in the jamming studio, complete with a full arsenal of different cymbals, cowbell, extra toms, and Iron Cobra double pedals. Drummers should bring their own tuning key though. I also saw a keyboard provided in addition to the usual bass / guitar amps.

Studio is nicely done up and cosy, and the rates are very reasonable. Thumbs up! Would really recommend it to those who are interested in jamming / practising to check it out

i saw that studio. i live VERY near! what are the rates ar? i have been coming home pretty late lately, thanks to evening lectures XP

Bor: i visited their webbie, www.musicgarage.com, is the $14/hr rate applicable to all the rooms, including the one with the big kit you mentioned?

Hi Jeepers,

I think the website is not the correct one, this one's bout music garage in USA. I think you got a bit mixed up there haha...

Anyway, the $14 / hr is if you have band members coming along to jam. As far as i noe, the room with the big kit (Pearl Forum series, with plenty of add-ons - cowbell, IC double pedals, additional toms and a variety of different cymbals) is the one that's for full band jamming. The other rooms, probably just for drummers to practise alone, is at $10 an hour, and comes with PA set and headphones. I've pasted the below from an earlier post buried away in this thread..... Hope this helps ;)

Music Garage Jamz Studio

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey fellow Drummers!

Guess what? Our jamming studio also offer the space to practise and also to fellow musicians who wish to get together for one to one music exchange with their fellow pupils or friends.

For this category, the rates are at $10 per hour which includes a few amenities such as free soft drinks, a cd player and PA system ( head phones also incl.) and also fellow in house musicians that you can jam with for the fun of it all at no extra cost.

Bring in your fellow bassist or guitarist to jam and its still at $10. (Unless its a complete setup of a band that the rates go back up $14 ya?..

call 94557996 for bookings!
Seeya!

eh my bad, i missed out the .sg lol! anyway, on the website, there was only this picture of a yamaha kit so yeah i thought that was the only kit.

plus there isnt much info on the equipment that are provided in the studio(s). i think for those who havent heard of been there before (for instance, me), i would definitely want to know what equipment they provide so i can decide whether my band and i need to bring any extra stuff or not.

From what i know, they have peavey guitar amps amps, a microphone, and i saw a keyboard too, but didnt notice the model. For specific details, the best is call them up to check.

My band members brought their guitars, while I came with just a pair of sticks. Unfortunately i forgot my tuning key so i couldnt really adjust the set to my best preferences....

Bow wow wow Naz, I think they are talking about Garage Studios.

I also saw X Jamming studio when I passed by in a cab last Sunday.

Since Jeepers getting on bass, West Side homies, want to go jam and play play call me too! I can't play guitar properly, but ask me play some 3 chords wonders/power chords stuff I can still belt them out! Haha!

heh, i can play piano also! but not very good la. grade 5 only. and played flute in pri and sec school band!

errmmm.... reuben yesss  a number of the guys there are my homies from sg jrock scene, i've been there since early this year when they started

i usually conduct classes small group classes there (2-3 pax) focusing on drum fundamentals and musicality

Yes Jamming is nice.eeee

Just a sidenote: - - - My friend is having some Drumming thing again (Special Event Organiser call him) .... I ask him to check if we can play - He come back to me saying - They want Hand-Drummers...as our type of drum is too common.

I think we drummers also can do what these Hand-Drummers does right? using our Kits - only thing we need to reherse to make it sound NEW....

Cause Event Organisers want - FRESH IDEAS --- - Maybe you all can practice Jamming using Kits but playing it in a Cohesive and innovative manner....then these event organiser will give us gigs in DXS
